A Good Gas Oven, Any Ideas?

Featured Replies

Looking for a decent oven that can run off gas bottles, high pressure or low pressure it does not matter. I don't want the really cheap ones like I have already owned but I don't need some fancy built in thing for modern kitchens. I have been using a Zanussi that I bought 20 years ago for about 4K, obviously it is past its best, if it ever had a "BEST" - I don't really want a home kitchen type appliance as it will not stand up to the abuse. I do not need a hob, just the oven, something between home use and commercial, suitable for roasting large joints, baking bread, steam would be a benefit. Been looking around the Home Pro / Global, but these are just fancy overpriced junk.

Does anyone know of any commercial suppliers, suitable for small hotels etc. sort of free standing stainless, maybe double oven that can run off the gas bottles? I need something that can actually moderate temperature within 10 or 20 C, rather than just burn or turn off. If anyone here bakes their own bread and has an oven that can cope with  maybe 4 or 6- 1kg loaves, and cook them correctly, I'd love to hear where you bought it and what it cost. (If you bought outside Chiang Mai but they deliver, then that is fine) Thanks a lot! (Price is up to 60K)

Thank you for that! That is right on track with what I am after, I don't need the hobs, but for that price.....

Thanks a lot. Years ago, they used to sell similar ovens for about 35-40K, but suddenly they seemed to disappear and all of the built in junk appeared at inflated prices. I will check this one out as it looks like just what I am after!

You could try your luck at this shop: https://goo.gl/maps/CbwTaoPscm21NxSF9

Never been there, just saw it when waiting at the traffic light.

Thanks, worth a try as it isn't exactly standstill with traffic in the City these days.

I live in Pattaya so can't suggest a supplier in CM, but there are a couple of 2nd hand commercial kitchen equipment stores near where I live that are very well stocked, courtesy of closures due to Covid. I should think such places exist in your neck of the woods and might be where you could pick up a bargain.
