Popular Post webfact
Thailand's embattled prime minister Prayut Chan-o-cha continued to insist that the country was on track in its vaccine rollout. Channel 3 TV news reported that the PM said that 100 million doses would be in the arms of people in Thailand by the end of 2021. That's 50 million people thus meeting the declared target of 70% of the population. So far only about two million doses have been secured. Much of the rest is counting on AstraZeneca being produced by Siam BioScience in Thailand - 61 million doses have been promised. These will be given to the aged and those with underlying health conditions - 16 million doses - starting in June. Only after this initial stage will other people get the vaccine. The PM said that this month 3.5 million doses of the Chinese produced Sinovac will be available to administer to frontline workers and those in high risk areas. The rest of the rollout will be made up of Pfizer (5 to 20 million doses) and Sputnik V, Johnson and Johnson and Sinovac between 5 and 10 million each. Thailand's vaccine rollout has been criticized for its slow pace with fears that local production may not be able to meet needs, something the government denies. Much rests on whether Siam BioScience can come through with the 61 million doses that are due to start becoming available next month. Vaccines in the private sector have been mired in regulatory holdups with one major Bangkok hospital - Vibhavadi - today abandoning plans to offer the Moderna vaccine, notes Thaivisa. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-05-07 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

Popular Post DLock
Lets say he has 3million jabs by the end of May. That leaves 97million jabs in 7 months = 13.8million jabs per month = 461k jabs per day. If Thailand was able to do 100k jobs per day, Id be really impressed. I think they will be lucky to be at 30million jabs (15million vaccinated).
Popular Post impulse
As reluctant as I'd be to take Sinovac, I'd be even more reluctant to take the Thai made AZ. They're under so much pressure to put something out that there's no telling what they may stoop to. 7
Popular Post internationalism
just yesterday moderna was names as the one for expats at private hospitals. today it has disappeared from the PM list and the mentioned hospital withdraw from distributing this very same vax. for 100mln doses this year they would have to give some 15mln per month. Judging by the present advances in distribution, it looks pretty difficult
Popular Post mtls2005
I think setting aggressive goals, and then doing everything in your power, and with a singular focus of the entire "government" and military, is called for right now. However jabbering on about unreasonable goals, and doing very little to work towards those, is more in line with the regime leader. 50 million fully vaccinated by year end sounds like it came from TAT. Stop talking, make a plan, communicate the plan, execute the plan. Thank goodness he never had to defend the Kingdom. 7

BritManToo
"Prayut: 70% of population will be vaccinated by year end" If betting weren't illegal, I'd be prepared to risk money on the number being less than 10% of the Thai population.

Someone compared him with Muhammad Saeed al-Sahhaf, for his comment "what tanks, I see no tanks". At least that Iraqi went on to surrender. So what adjective fits in with Prayut? farcical, funny, hilarious, humoristic, humorous, hysterical. If I was asked, I'd go for farcical Prayut or hysterical Prayut. 'Prayut will not go that easily until his master decides otherwise.' It appears that farcical Prayut is available on the HMV label at an ineffective government near you.
