Discount on PEA power bill - got one :)

As a clearly posted, there was a discount. Clearly shown on the bill. From 1356 to 1310 units.

 

not worth much, of course, very small. Apparently because the discount is only applied on excess usage compared to the month prior, and the month prior of course was April and super hot.

My mor doo (‘clairvoyant")  told me about the discount in March.   I went on vacation in April

so my electric bill was low low low.     

Nice big discount this month  ???? .

For me, May consumption is 7 units less than April, so I guess no discount. We have low consumption anyway as you can see.

Just noticed that in March my bill only increased by 26.12 baht compared to Feb, but we consumed 125 more units, so it seems that some "discount" has been applied to March's bill.

Do you still have the bills? Any discount will be detailed there.

 

My understanding is that it's the April bill that's the baseline but others have reported various discounts that don't seem to be country wide.

Unfortunately no, I had a clean out last month and burnt them all (30-40 of them).

Looks like this month we used less units than last month.

A strange way to calculate discounts.

 

Would it not be easier and fairer to just knock a % off the total?

 

Or lower the kilowatt hour rate

The press release said just May and June, maybe they'll extend it but unlikely unless extra hot

Yes, others have reported "mysterious" discounts, but the official roolz have the April consumption as the baseline with any discount made to consumption above that.

 

Unless you are a very small user of electricity (<150 units).

Our last two months bills are for exactly the same amount.  This months usage was 494kWhrs 

 

A few months ago we changed two of our Air Con units to Daikin FKTM ... they seem to use far less electric and at least one of them runs most of the day and night. Also have a PHEV and last month it used about 80units. ...

Yes, also (for May) says 133 unit discount, charge 335 units 554.72 baht

You used 515 units and were billed for 497.

 

Because you were over 500 units used you got a discount of 50% of the difference between June and April.

We got our June bill yesterday, paid the same for 3 months ????

 

April used 422 units, 1726.53 Baht

 

May  used 460 units 1726.53 Baht

 

June  used 476 units 1726.53 Baht

 

Thanks for the heads up about the 500 unit cut off Crossy ???? Not quite sure how I'm gonna adjust to lowering my usage, I've gotten used to a cool bedroom whenever I want it ????

 

Only kidding, I can afford my leccy bill whatever it is, just refreshing to have a bargain now & again. ????

I just got my PEA bill and it's been discounted lower than Apr, May and Jun i.e. not capped at Apr. I wasn't expecting that

Yeah, the new batch of discounts are based on your February usage.
