Two Sinopharm Vaccines 72.8% and 78.1% Efficacy

Featured Replies

so it's as good as AZ at 76%.

and as good as claimed by sinopharm at 79% and as estimated by the WHO.

But in UEI they are going to do the third booster shot, because of the african mutation.

The thing is - I could not find price. Only declaration from the producer that it should be not more than $140 for 2 vials.

In china they were going the last year for $60 per dose, and nurses and others had to pay full price.

most important is what side effects it had, little is known about it in thailand.

putting on it 12% anutin import charges, hospital mark up, how many people in thailand will afford to pay around $100 per dose? That might be 3 doses. There might also be boosters every 6-12 months, as with some other vax

I don't think you can use an average for AZ. It depends on the dose regime. Quoting from the above linked article...

"62.1% and 90.0% for the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine (AZ), depending on the dose scheme (2 standard doses or a low dose followed by a standard dose)"

I haven't previously heard about this and don't know which regimes Thailand are using. Sinopharm is either better or worse; not about the same.

Sinopharm is different from Sinovac (which is what Thailand is getting, right?). Previous data charts showed Sinopharm superior... just because it almost sounds the same doesn't mean it is the same.

At what price? The supply/demand balance.

In the UK there is a thing called "A Royal Warrant of Appointment." It's a sign of quality. Sinopharm seems to be glowing in the same light. The vaccine uptake will rise.

Tell me how much a human life is worth. "We could have saved you, but it would have cost $25... sorry, $3 is our max"
