Oh, great - a "field hospital" ... but no back-up generator.

Worse: no existing plan in the event of a blackout, other than telling everyone to just stay put.

They are not known for contingencies or planning ahead.

Proper education and discipline fixes this.

Wait, didn't they name it themselves, ergo why an earlier article published claims it was the Thai Variant.  So confused by the daily stories, denials and u-turns, sometimes my head just spins.  I feel like I am on a merry go-round.

Well Kh Anutin, what are you doing to ensure no further Thais infected with the Thai strain are becoming super spreaders ? I won't say dirty Thais as you labelled some foreigners but you get my point I hope.

It's the very  same  with  many countries, Ireland  has been at around 400 a day for the past  5 weeks,so it's not only Thailand.

No it isn’t. Most countries report figures responsibly and appropriately. Ireland had its wave spike and has flattened off; Thailand is either unwilling or doesn’t have the means to show it. Take official figures and x10-x100.

You must fly direct to Phuket. Attached are some examples of airlines doing direct flights. Please note, all flights are subject to change or cancellation. There was talk originally of being able to fly Bangkok and then being escorted to Phuket. But no confirmation of this yet

Security forces deployed after Covid-19 patients tried to flee field hospital during power outage

More than 500 Covid-19 patients, all Myanmar nationals, tried to escape from a field hospital in Phetchaburi province during a power outage on Thursday evening, a news source revealed.

The field hospital has been set up within the Cal-Comp Electronics Thailand factory, in Khao Yoi district, about 100 kilometres southwest of Bangkok, after 682 workers tested positive earlier this month.

“At around 6pm, there was an electrical malfunction at the hospital, as a result electric fans stopped working,” said the source. “About 500 patients were upset due to the hot and crowded conditions and tried to escape from the building.”

Maybe they remembered the time that the Thai army chucked a trussed up bunch of them into the back of an army truck like they were logs and a lot of them died due to suffocation, maybe thought it was happening again. Tongue in cheek on that one.

but I love the way they refer to a “field hospital” repeatedly in the OP. It’s actually just the electronics factory that they all work in. Other than cardboard beds I bet there isn’t much in the way of hospital equipment.

Watched Al Jazeera report last night. Reporter in front of Thai prison stated that "80% of inmates tested had tested positive for Covid". We don't know how many inmates were tested and why those specific inmates were tested, but I would consider that still worrisome.

There is probably some scientific merit in studying the 1% of inmates who don’t test positive.

Latest trends chart for new daily COVID cases in Thailand. The blue bars show self-referred cases, the yellow bars cases found via outreach testing, and the gray bars showing prison cases.

In general, Thailand's total daily COVID cases have been ranging between about 2,500 and 3,500 per day for the past two weeks, rarely moving either above or below those levels, although Friday's 3,759 total broke to the high side of that range.

And cases breakdown by provinces, with four provinces led by Bangkok (973) reporting more than 100 new cases on Friday. Thirty provinces reported only between one and 10 new cases, and 29 provinces reported no new cases. Thus 59 of Thailand's 77 provinces reported 10 or fewer cases for the day.

So basically he is telling them that Sinovac is a go and to not worry about its pedigree without the WHO approval.  MY view of course.

Reading between the lines AZ will be scarce at first, some sinovac and a lot of sinopharm?

Germany start to vaccinate 12 years old kids. Researchs has shown , kids normaly not get "bad" covid they still spread it. That vaccine what given to kids is not any of vaccine what use in Thailand.

The current outbreak in bangkok is not improving more than one month on. The only solution is a strict lockdown for Bangkok and surrounding areas for at least a month. No one should be allowed to leave or enter Bangkok.

Currently, anyone can travel to and from Bangkok without any restrictions, which is insane. Bus services operates as usual between BKK and most provinces which helps to spread the virus to more provinces.

Well if you multiple it by 100 like u say, then this virus isn't half as dangerous   as they say.
