Allen Millyard

You'd think watching a guy adjust, clean and reinstall a bank of carburetors would be tedious at best, yet watching Allen Millyard do just this to the carbs of one of his latest incredible creations is like watching an artist at work.

Way back, when I was restoring 70s Hondas, I used to subscribe to "British Motorcycle Mechanics" magazine and there were often features on Allen as he would cut two engines and join them into something never before imagined, often using nothing but hand tools.

His creativity matched to his mechanical expertise is off the charts and he has created many unique and amazing machines  It's not a surprise his YouTube channel has more than 150K subscribers.   His modest and self-effacing manner and wry sense of humor belies his genius.

If you are unaware of him, you might enjoy this.

I found his channel a couple of months ago and subscribed to it. And I guess by now I saw 10 to 20 of his videos.

Great guy! And like you write: He often says something like "and then I use my saw" (it's a hand saw) and sometime later you see two engines combined into one.

I am sure 99% of motorcycle mechanics would tell us: That is impossible - with any tools. He just does it. ????

Enjoy!

Just perfect! Absolute pleasure to watch.

Thanks for posting.

Another great video just popped up in my playlist. 600kg!

Yeah, this one is astonishing.  His ability to find elegant solutions to seemingly unsurpassable problems; like fitting a V-10 into a motorcycle frame and having it actually look good is beyond impressive.

The man is like the mad professor of motorcycling - top guy. The world needs more people like him...????

And listening to him you could think what he does is everyday mechanic anybody should be able to do at home. ????

His twin cyl SS50 ( 100 ) Honda moped ..

The blue Kawasaki is said to be one of his faves and those who know these old Kawa's wil see that it has been transformed from a jangly 3 cyl air-cooled to a 4 pot liquid cooled ..

I do hope you'll have caught on to the fact that that was a quote from the video. (As was "just perfect", a phrase he uses more often than not.)

When Allen decided to do just that -- have a toast -- during the filming of his video, I found it very hard not be amused. Such an unassuming fellow.
