BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's central bank has allowed banks to pay interim dividends as lenders are strong with sufficient capital to withstand the impact of COVID-19 outbreaks, the governor said on Thursday.

Delta (Indian) COVID-19 strain in 11 Thai provinces – Medical Sciences Department

The Delta (Indian) variant of COVID-19 has spread to 11 provinces in Thailand, with 348 people found to be infected to date, including 318 cases in Bangkok alone, according to Dr. Supakit Sirilak, director-general of the Thai Medical Sciences Department.

Five drug suspects arrested, firearms seized

PHUKET: Phuket Provincial Police have arrested five more people in a series of raids that seized in total more than 72.6 grammes of crystal meth (ya ice), 5,326 pills of methamphetamine (ya bah), firearms and 60 rounds of ammunition.

Today marks two months of Covid-19 restrictions in Pattaya with many business owners and residents getting frustrated

Pattaya, Thailand-Today, June 10th, 2021, marks a full two months since Covid-19 restrictions were enacted in the Chonburi (and Thailand) area, causing hundreds of businesses to be force closed and essentially stopped domestic tourism that had been assisting Pattaya “survive” with a lack of foreign tourists due to border closures.

A quarter of Bangkok markets lacking Covid-prevention measures
