Has anyone done this recently? Do you know what documents are required? Are they asking for the embassy letter in this office?

 

I am on an extension to allow me to work. I'm just wondering what will happen if I decide to quit. I don't want be forced to go home.

What type of visa or visa exempt.

Last time I entered Thailand was in Jan 2020. That was on just a visa exempt border run. I've since had an education visa which was done in the country and now I got the extension to allow me to work as a teacher.

They are doing the 60 day covid 19 extensions at Chiang Mai immigration at this time. They are available until July 29th but the order for them will most likely be extended. 

A embassy letter is not required. You complete a affidavit that has tick boxes for the reason you need the the extension.

First up you will be able to obtain covid extension. 

Second is that embassy letters are not required.

So you have a work permit and wish to quit. An expert can advise re that process. Think you need to apply for covid extension same day that your cease your employment.

Expert will be along to advise.

I don't wish to quit just want to know my options.

One of your options is to obtain a covid extension and that would require you not to be working.
