Trat provincial governor on Monday (June 21) announced updated requirements for people entering the province.

The most notable of the restrictions are that anyone travelling to Trat from a ‘dark red zone’ (Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan) need COVID-free test 72 hours prior to travelling to the province or have been vaccinated with either 1 dose of Astrazeneca or 2 doses of Sinovac.

Tourists from all other areas can visit the province without restrictions.

For people already in Trat, including on Koh Chang, restaurants can now open during normal hours but the sale of alcohol is not permitted.

Bars and pubs remain closed in accordance with the national policy on opening entertainment venues.

The ban on alcohol also extends to social events, parties and carnivals.

Events with more than 200 people are not permitted.

Any venue where an infection is discovered must close for 14 days.

The governor also announced that students must continue to study online until the end of the month.

Anyone who violates the order faces a fine not exceeding 100,000 baht or imprisonment of up to 1 year for violating  Section 52 of the Communicable Diseases Act, B.E. 2558, as well  as and a fine of not more than 40,000 baht or imprisonment for not longer than 2 years  for violating Section 18 of the Emergency Decree, B.E. 2548.

If you think the countries border frontiers are porous (and they are) lets see how they handle this at a province level which has no borders at all.

It won't work, if they want to get in then they will.
