More than 50 staff and owners who worked at entertainment businesses, bars, and nightclubs massed up to the Phuket Provincial Hall this afternoon with a letter asking the Phuket Governor to partner with the Thai government and allow the reopening of their businesses for the Phuket Sandbox from July First.

 

The protest this afternoon at 2:00 P.M. was led by Mr. Prompiriya Oppatham who had prepared a letter to the Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew.

 

The Phuket Vice-Governor Wigrom Chaktee and Piyaphong Choowong have received the letter as representatives of the Phuket Governor and met with the large group of frustrated owners and staff.

Very polite and obliging of the massers to be masked but is 50 really a massing in the true sense of the word or more of a big gaggle .. I digress on this one ..

is the governor of phuket elected or appointed 

 

Thai people need to realise they have no democracy - the people running things are appointed so it doesn't matter what you vote for 

 

There is so much anger in this country right now the people in charge really need to think very hard about their futures - they think the military and police will back them - that is not the sentiment I am hearing 

 

Through social media the people are starting to realise exactly what is going on and they don't like it

they know there is a crisis - they are not happy about how it is being handled 

Ummm, so the Phuket sandbox experiment that is going to bring tourists back in droves, to pay 3 times the going rate for their hotels, have to register, show vaccination certificates, be tested, be tracked and possibly wear electronic tags will include bars and "entertainment venues" that are, in fact, closed down?

You could not possibly make this sh*t up for a sitcom.

No-one would believe it!
