Hi,

I stay in Singapore for a short project and must go home to TH in September.

The Thai Embassy informed me today that I can not go into the Sandbox because I'm not a normal Tourist.

Additional I must buy a one year Thai Health Insurance (60,000THB++) in parallel to my European Insurance to get the COE.

They would Not accept any Letter from my own Health Insurance.

Is there a new rule that they now require also for NON O retired (not NON OA retired) this stupid senseless Thai Insurance?

If so then I know that they will not earn money from me due to sudden heavy back pain for one year including Bangkok Pattaya hospitalisation and every else illnes I suddendly will get soon.

Doese anyone else heard different from other Thai Embassy?

Where else can I read the offiziel rules for re-entry to Thailand with a valid NON O Retired?

Thanks

Anybody that qualifies for a certificate of entry can enter the Phuket sandbox. It is not for tourists only.

I assume you have a extension of stay from a non-o visa entry based upon retirement and a re-entry permit to keep it valid. The rules for the 40/400k baht insurance for it is vague and many embassies do not require it. If you have insurance that covers that amount it should be accepted.

The $100,000 covid 19 insurance only has to be valid for your length of stay in the would be the day your re-entry permit expires.

Hi UbonJoe,

yes I have a NON O retired Visa and did extension for four years already. Last Time in October 2020 they did not ask for any health-insurance but anyway I have a German health-insurance which is unlimited and cover 100% In/Outpatient and cover covid too. They confirmed me by letter.

The woman from the Embassy told me that only Thai Insurances would be accepted.

Is there any official announcement from the Government that only Thai Insurance are accepted nowadays?

I tried to find since days a clear statement abaout.

Further my Visa is Valid until 9th October and I plan to re-enter Thailand mid of September. Also here she told that I have to buy the Thai Insurance for a full year, instead of the 30 days.

Why she can assume that I stay longer than the 9th October? I consider meanwhile to move out of Thailand at all.

I would like to show her some document which tell her the actual law. I'm damned P O to be so dependent from the goodwill of a little officer.

Unfortunately, Obstructive Consular Disease is encountered at times at some embassies/consulates. You seem to have run into a particularly virulent case of it, and the fact that the official is absolutely wrong about the law is unlikely to help you. Embassies/consulates can refuse visas (and COEs) for any reason and are under no obligation to document the reason for their refusal. Consider contacting a good immigration lawyer in Singapore, not because this will suddenly make the official law abiding, but because (contrary to popular belief) even in non corrupt Singapore, brown envelopes can still often circumvent unreasonable officialdom. Good luck!

She doesn't know what she is talking about.

There is no requirement for it to be from a Thai company to get a certificate of entry. You will need something in writing from you insurance company to prove it covers covid 19.

If you have problems with covid 19 insurance you could look for the 30 days of insurance here.

https://www.tipinsure.com/CovidRegional/product_detail  The price today is 1600 baht for 30 days of insurance for those traveling from Singapore.
