webfact Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 Photo by Fred TANNEAU / AFP (Reuters) – Moderna Inc’s (MRNA.O) COVID-19 vaccine showed promise against the Delta variant first identified in India in a lab study, with a modest decrease in response compared to the original strain, the drugmaker said on Tuesday. The study was conducted on blood serum from eight participants obtained one week after they received the second dose of the vaccine, mRNA-1273. The vaccine provoked an antibody response against all the variants tested, according to Moderna, but one that remained inferior in all cases to the vaccine’s neutralizing activity against the original coronavirus strain first found in China. rabas Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 Forgot this, from the article. "Against three versions of the Beta variant, the vaccine-elicited neutralizing antibodies reduced six-to-eight fold compared to those produced against original strain, while modest 3.2 to 2.1 fold reductions were seen for lineages of the variant first identified in India including Delta and Kappa." 1

mtls2005 Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 Great. A vaccine which remains unavailable here. Now everyone will pre-pay.

BangkokReady Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 Sinovac tested on all variants would be good. but that might be a little "problematic". 1
tingtong Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 Test on 8 ppl.... Potentially random result would be a serious understatement.
4MyEgo Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 Go Moderna, perhaps those whinging TVF members the other day will register and pay the 3,400 baht for Octobers jab now ? 1

Moti24 Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 Just a ploy to entice you into booking and paying 3,400 Baht, as reported yesterday. You've got to think outside the sandbox here in Thailand!
connda Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 Just wait for the Eternity, Freakout, and Hellboy variants. Boy howdy. More lockdowns until the Big Pharma saviors can brew some expensive boosters for the masses! Cha-Ching. This never ends. It's a cash cow. Pandemic forever as the public is bled. 1
