Moderna Vaccine

Featured Replies

A few days ago it was announced that reservation for the Moderna Vac. would be available from Private Hospitals at Bht 3400 ( prepaid) from July 1st. I contacted the 2 private hospitals in HH and neither hospital were aware of this scheme. Has anybody had and success with this scheme???

They wont have it until October--- But the BKK group is doing this...

First formal registrations for Moderna vaccine were launched last month by Thonburi Healthcare Group (THG).

Registration was closed last month.

They started taking deposits yesterday.

Vaccination bookings are transferable and if they do not provide vaccinations by 31st December 2021 they will fully refund your deposit.

Not sure which THG hospital is in Hua Hin area (Petchaburi?)  but my wife and I registered and paid our deposits today for the Moderna vaccine at Lanna Hospital Chiang Mai.

It seems THG were ahead of the game as it appears none of the private hospitals in Chiang Mai are taking registrations or deposits with some claiming to know nothing about it.

This is the article from last month regarding THG and the Moderna vaccine.

Today, the Thonburi Healthcare Group (THG), posted on their Facebook page that they contacted Moderna and asked where is the vaccine. Moderna replied the Thai government has NOT signed the contract! Thai People are dying at an alarming rate however the Thai government is unwilling to expedite the purchase and delivery of a highly effective vaccine. It's an Amazing Thailand!

Have pre paid for Moderna vaccine in CM on Friday.

They do not mention refunds

They are saying vaccination October/ November.

Well that's the propaganda out of the way.

Will it arrive is anybody  guess

Will we get a refund if it doesn't?

Who cares  I don't. It was worth a punt , and with what the government  are spouting right now it will be of no surprise if it's a year before it turns up.

Maybe we will get our FREE vaccinations first?

You never know

Absolute con - there is not a cat in hells chance Moderna will be in Thailand before March 2022 AT BEST - and that’s according to Moderna ! By which time a few other variants will no doubt have appeared!

Draft contracts haven’t even been drawn up yet - anyone paying a ‘deposit’ are simply padding savings accounts for hospitals that haven’t a clue if they can get it at all let alone when !

How do you know this?

Google Moderna Bloomberg Thailand - there was a news item on there.

Also there is a mechanism to buy vaccines which starts with a draft contract - the Thai minister for health himself last week has said he hasn’t even seen a contract for Moderna and that would start life on his desk!

One more ? The government have published their expected vaccine purchases for 2021, there is not 1 Moderna vaccine on it.
