Are the Thailand government practising genocide by their control of vaccines in the persuit of profit

The Thailand government  is restricting the supply  of vaccines to  the people of Thailand . Vaccines offered by other countries have been declined .Although the Bio science

facility owned by the crown is exporting vaccine to other countries local production levels are not adequate to supply the needs of the Thai population.

Private hospitals wishing to offer alternate  vaccines such as Moderna have been unduly prevented from doing so  due to government obstruction .People who are prepared to pay for a vaccine are been denied the protection they seek even as the death toll rises every day.

The government seem to have agreed  a policy once all members of parliament have received two doses of protection to allow the most venerable members of the population to enter a vaccine lottery  . While helping other countries by exporting and selling vaccines urgently required by the people of Thailand . The shortfall in supply of vaccine in Thailand is controlled by government greed nothing else.

I'm no certain you understand what 'genocide' means?

But, assuming you posed a question, then, "no".

Now gunning down citizens in Bangkok? Maybe just state-sanctioned murder.

Genocide?

No.

Blatant discrimination that will have grave consequences?

Yes.

Embassies -- are you getting this by now?

Not sure I would call it genocide but their response  leads one to question their motives.  Certainly other countries placed orders and many have already received the more effective vaccines.

From appearances, Thailand is deliberately slow walking their procurement.  My suspicion is that China is exerting influence to sway Thailand to use almost exclusively its Sinovac vaccine.  Now whether that is due to threats or financial inducements who knows.

However the ridiculous part is that whatever financial inducement is potentially there, the costs both in human lives and to the Thai economy are far greater.  The closure or curtailment of many businesses in Thailand is costing billions.  The loss of virtually all of the tourists is incalculable. since it impacts not just the current year but may well dispel tourists from visiting Thailand for many years.

The government has imposed many restrictions haphazardly like the Keystone Cops to supposedly stem the spread of Covid.  The one thing that would unquestionably do the most good is to get good quality vaccines, and have the population vaccinated as soon as possible and that is the one thing they are not doing.

No need for Chinese influence.

Every dose of Moderna given is a dose less of AZ or Sinovac. That's a fistful of dollars less profit for the owners.

Sure that is true but the owners are not the Thai government and it is the Thai government that is making the choice not to actively procure Pfizer or Moderna.

So, if it is the "owners" the Chinese of the drug Sincovac who benefit are they using they using the Chinese to threaten disfavor if they don't steer things towards Sinovac or are they using financial inducements to those making the decisions in Thailand.  The same would be true of Astra Zeneca.  However to a far lesser degree.

It appears to me that those in charge are slow walking the procurement of the alternative mRNA vaccines and usually there is a reason for such action other that just not getting around to it.

That's correct. I thought there is no need to mention it.

It is not something i will talk about.

IDK. Is there any chance the country will open up by the end of the year? Things were looking kind of good a few weeks ago, but recent news seems like there will be a delay.

Hoping things open without restrictions (except proof of vaccination), but giving up hope for that. Maybe Sonkran?

Currently Thailand’s Covid death rate is 16 times less than the world average and it is the  country with the 164th highest death rate.

if you think Thailand is guilty of such gross mismanagement of the virus that it rises to genocide, why not try prosecuting the 163 countries with a higher death rate too?

They are now actively taking measures but the fact is that what there is and will be for 2021 is already spoken for. They could do something like approve Novavax for Thailand. Phase 3 clinical trials show its very effective. The USA is slowwalking approval because it doesn't need it anymore. But that shouldn't stop other counties that do.
