Road repairs between Chiangmai and Chiangrai

Featured Replies

Later this week family members will travel by car from Chiangmai to Mae Fah Luang university.

The shortest route is via Hwy 118 and Hwy 1 However I read of considerable delays this way because of extensive road repairs or reconstruction on this route.

The alternative is via Hwys 107 and 1089 via Fang which is slightly longer but may be less difficult.

Has any member travelled by car between Chiangmai and Chiangrai recently ? I would appreciate any reports and/or advice about it.

Please note. flying or by bus is not practicable..

Thank You

.

Was up there Monday. Maybe 1 KM still not covered in asphalt. South end.

The rest finished - they even painted lines on the road.

Some misc lighting being installed
