Today Bangkok Hospital joined the line of hospitals making fun of farang who want Moderna.

Registration had been open for Thais for about 5 days.

Today it was opened for farang, so that they could enjoy the following message:

(BTW as mentioned in another thread,  BPH did the same last week. And there is a thread about Princ Hospitals.)

Thais are struggling to get vaccines also it's not just us. As I said before withhold funds until you get vaccinated which means no investments, no money for girlfriend, wife, gik, mia noi

This country truly deserves what it's about to receive.

Not so.

The majority of the Thai people (at least the ones I know), deserve a whole lot better than they have received since 2014, when the country was stolen from them. What they have now would have happened no matter which way they voted, as this so called government fixed the result even before the election, in the same manner that the PM was selected.

What they DO deserve and are unlikely to get in the immediate future, is a wholesale removal of the current "government" and the entire senate, a complete overhaul of the 1997 constitution, a lifetime ban of the PPRP and their families. an emasculated and and reformed military back in their barracks, a complete reform of the RTP, especially the top brass and a complete reform of the justice system.

It won't happen in my lifetime as I am 77, it is possible in my Thai wife's lifetime as she will be 56 this year and a certainty in my son's lifetime as he is only 17.

Not sure that withholding money from the girlfriend or wife is necessarily going to help them an awful lot in their struggles to get vaccines.

Hospitals will make a tidy profit, and will want to rinse/repeat.

I would expect an even larger tranche after the first 1 MM (even on a 4 MM order I'm expecting these to trickle in batches of 1 MM) doses get delivered, in a month/year to be named later.

People usually get the government they want. In Thailand that's the top tier.

Until the rest figure out how much ground they've lost in the last 20 years, and do something about it, it will get much, much, much worse.

With a shaky pillar the entire house can crumble.

What I do find depressing and discouraging for the longer term, though, is that the assorted rag-bag of civilian politicians who held the reins of power up until 2014 didn't exactly cover themselves in glory either.

The constant dithering and delay on the government's part in getting a meaningful national vaccination programme off the ground could well provide the shaky pillar to which you refer. My gut feeling is that your average Thai-in-the-street's patience on this particular issue is now beginning to wear very, very thin.

Very true, but even Thaksin was better than this lot. He was even freely elected, not just once, but twice back in the good old days in the early part of this century.

I am not sure if Thanathorn (were he able to compete) would be better than Thaksin who has/had the political experience that Thanathorn is lacking.
