The Base or View Talay 6

Featured Replies

Just curious for any feedback about these two places.  I'm coming to Pattaya for a month or so from Bangkok and they seem pretty reasonably priced on the various booking sites.  Any other suggestions?  I prefer Pattaya to Jomtien.  Thanks.

Me too. I will be staying at View Talay 6 for a few nights and will start looking for a permanent condo this Saturday. Had my eye on both of these as well as Grand Avenue. Anyone staying at these places to give some insight?

Personally, I would choose Grand Ave.   With VT6 some rooms have fantastic views and some horrible views.  Also with VT6 the furnishings are quite different from room to room while the furnishings are more consistent in the Base or Grand Ave.

VT 6 has a great location and is right next to the mall that has around 100 different restaurants.

VT6 has a great location next to the mall but the only amenity is the pool.  As mentioned before, some units have nice sea views if that is important.  Big balconies.  Most of the units are studios, with some larger units also available.

Grand Avenue and The Base are newer and both have more amenities.  The Base used to be very busy and over-run with daily renters but with covid maybe not a problem right now.  Seaviews available from some units and a variety of sizes available.  Balconies smaller than VT6.

Grand Avenue is the newest and it is low-rise so no seaview units.  Near The Base so not much difference in location.  Big swimming pool in the center of the buildings.  Shouldn't be too crowded as it hasn't been open too long.  Balcony sizes generally bigger than The Base and smaller than VT6.

Worth mentioning that the minimum size unit in VT6 is likely 48 sq.m. The Base a ridiculos 29 sq. m.

Grand Avenue a bit better from 36 sq. m.

My choice of those three would be VT6 seaview. After all, if there is another lockdown, you aren't going to want to be cooped up in a tiny room with no view and the facilities may be closed anyway.

A spacious living  area with a good airflow and decent in-room facilities seems appropriate.

Thanks all for the great suggestions and comments!

I have lived or stayed at all 3 places.

I would try to get a refurbished room at View Talay.

Grand Ave is closterphobic in my opinion no views but of other buildings.  And, even now seems to be lots of people around there I don't like it.

At The Base, building A high floor on the inside facing north is more quiet and has views.

View Talay is older but great location if you can get a refurbished room on a high floor floor facing south, pretty sweet.
