DLT in-person Services Banglamung partially suspended

Featured Replies

From todays Pattaya News:

"The Department of Land Transport, or DLT, has announced they have suspended most in-person services in the thirteen maximum control provinces, including Chonburi, home of Pattaya" .... and then "Tax payments for vehicles will be online or drive-through online, the DLT added."

We need to pay Tax soon. Maybe someone can enlighten me what they mean with "online" or "drive-through-online". Hopefully not using LINE, Facebook which we do not and will not have. It is somewhat a bit of importance because they will check at the road checkpoints and it has as well a connection to the insurance I suppose.

Maybe someone has done such a "drive-through online" already. Thanks.

Just go to one of the testing stations displaying this sign

and let them do all the "running around"

Great ! Thank you.

There is such a station to the right just when you drive out from the premises and as well one integrated just next to the building I think. At least it looks like some kind of testing station.

Wrong, been yesterday. They can check car and provide the government insurance but not the road tax and sticker.

My Mrs returned yesterday after trying to do her motorcycle..... no service until Aug 2nd

Thanks, at least this is hands-on experience. You did ask for the tax, right ? and this was not just an assumption - or was it ?. If true, then this means I need to buy a full body suit level 4 virus lab style with gas mask for my wife (she is smaller so the suit will eventually be cheaper) and make her pay the tax inside.

I do not really understand what you mean by "do her motorcycle" and "no service". According to the article in Pattaya News in-person services were suspended partially and a so-called "Drive-through online" allowed. I still do not know what that entails. But in short: somehow one must be able to pay the tax and get the sticker.

We will drive there and find out by ourselves what the real situation is.

They are not renewing the tax discs... pretty much closing up shop for 2 weeks.

I tried to tell you but hey... let us know how you get on. The books, her bike, my truck, are on my table ready to go.

Then this means the article in Pattaya News might be plain wrong. Which is no surprize. I have never been a believer of everything I read (nowadays you need to extend that to what you see printed incl. pictures). But in the year 2021 suspicion about all information has reached new heights for me. And sadly this seems to be true all around the world - somewhere a bit more and somewhere as bit less.

I remember waiting for a bus at a Philippine bus station many many years ago and according to the time table the bus was expected to arrive for some time already. When I asked someone I was told it was not sure if the bus would arrive at all today. This was more than 40 years ago and in the Philippines but it seems correct (right, timely, complete and precise) information has now become a rare occurance worldwide.

Well I got that detail from my Thai Mrs... also far from the best source. But she left her bike book out to do another day. I think she was on the phone to them Monday or Tuesday, and got the drive through information... but no luck on Wed. Other people's time is of little consequence here.
