Samut Sakhon’s Governor Veerasak Vichitsangsri has volunteered to resign if his officials fail to contact COVID-19 patients, currently in community isolation facilities or pre-admission centres, within 24 hours of the patients asking to be transferred to hospitals for treatment.

In a Facebook post on “COVID-19 Samut Sakhon” page” on Saturday, the governor admitted that communication between patients and officials, about requests for hospital beds, has been an issue all along, adding that he has instructed the officials to improve the communication and to make sure that the patients’ requests receive a response within 24 hours.

Due to the inconvenient public access to COVID-19 screening, caused by long queues, shortages of antigen test kits (ATKs) and the requirement for social security coverage, Governor Veerasak said he has decided to procure 10,000 ATKs, to be distributed to hospitals, for use on people considered to be at high risk, free of charge, starting on Tuesday.

Ok, this is new, it's kind of confirmation that these people are not there for treatment if they're finding it hard to get actual treatment when they need it.

It is a prison, this guy knows it and from the looks of it - he doesn't like what he's in charge of.

Samut Sakhon’s Governor Veerasak Vichitsangsri has been battling with Covid related problems since the start of this year, he has had little support from government policies.

He has in many ways had to resort to his own efforts to achieve what he can.

This guy has done much for the province... and continues each and every day to achieve more with little resources.

Governors going it alone only confuses the issues unless they confront the czar who thinks he is boing a wonderful  job.

Fortunately, the Civil Service formal uniform includes a sword that he can fall on in retribution....????

FWIW, he was on a ventilator for 42 days, during an 82-day hospital stay battling COVID.
