BANGKOK (Reuters) - Authorities in Thailand's capital Bangkok plan to convert 15 disused railway carriages into a 240-bed COVID-19 isolation ward for patients with less severe symptoms, the city's governing body said on Tuesday.

Study shows AZ+mRNA vaccination regimen is as good as two doses of mRNA

An immunogenicity study, conducted in Germany, shows the mixed use of viral vector and mRNA vaccines induces a significantly high level of anti-spike and neutralizing antibodies, close to the level induced by two doses of mRNA vaccine, according to Professor Dr. Manop Pithukpakorn, head of the Excellence Centre for Genomics and Precision Medicine at Siriraj Hospital.

Twelve people arrested at Pattaya underground bar for allegedly drinking alcohol and violating Covid-19 measurements

Eleven foreigners and one Thai national have been arrested in an underground room during a Pattaya bar raid while allegedly drinking alcohol that Pattaya police stated was violating the current Thai emergency decree to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus.

Vaccination at Bangkok’s Bang Sue Grand Station to continue, as focus turns to younger people

Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha gave an assurance today (Tuesday) that vaccination services at Bangkok’s Bang Sue Grand Station will continue as normal, but social distancing measures must be tightened and walk-in services will be suspended from August 1st.

BANGKOK - Thailand is considering a cap on the export of locally made COVID-19 vaccines as it scrambles to shore up domestic supplies amid its worst outbreak of the coronavirus since the pandemic began. Talk of restricting exports comes as some of Thailand’s neighbors are also battling major new waves of infection.

PHUKET: A workers’ camp in Patong has been put under ‘Bubble and Seal’ isolation for one month after 13 workers there tested positive for COVID-19 as Phuket officials yesterday marked a record 38 local infections on one day, not including two Sandbox arrivals who were also recorded as testing positive yesterday (July 27).

Cocoa trees seized as new plantation found in Bang Wad protected national forest

Vaccine registration for people over 18 starts tomorrow

This morning, many people, including the elderly, again arrived at Bang Sue Grand Station to receive their jabs.

Thailand’s Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plants Conservation has been instructed, by Natural Resources and Environment Minister Varawut Silpa-archa, to withhold an order to close down all national parks from August 1st until September 30th.
