i read a report from someone on here and it helped me get all my stuff sorted out.  it was accurate.  so i'll post the data again in case some others need it.  as noted in the title, exempt to non O.

i left my place via taxi at 9am from sukhumvit area to go to bangkok bank head office in silom to get the bank letter for my foreign currency deposit account (can't get this at bangkok bank at CW).  arrived CW at 10:15am (same taxi guy).  went to copy center for bank book and passport, no line at all.  back to the main area to get a queue number (no line).  it was called almost immediately.  it did take some time for the immigration officer to do all her stuff.  left immigration at 11:00am.

passport copies - i gave copy of the personal details page, most recent entry stamp, and my expired re-entry permit stamp page.

bank letter - the bank letter satisfied 5.1 on the attached checklist (i wasn't sure what this 'guarantee' was, i hoped it was the bank letter).

bank book - copy of first page and the last page only.

rental agreement - copy of lease and evidence of last three payments

TM 30 - i had a print screen (i assume of the TM30 system) that my apartment mgr gave me along with a letter saying i lived at the apartment.

map - i forgot about this, she asked me to draw it, but we got sidetracked on a discussion, she had me fill out a new TM87, mine was outdated, then we talked about my visit to the US and we forgot about the map after that.  maybe i'll have to draw it up when i return in two weeks for the non O stamp.

I am wondering why evidence of rent payment for 3 months is required, whilst the application from visa exempt would presumably mean having been in the country for less than 3 months?

i can only assume immigration expects someone applying for the non O has been living in the country for a period of time longer than their permission to stay would suggest.  when i did the change visa in 2017 they did ask for a copy of my lease, but did not ask for evidence of monthly payments.  so it is a somewhat recent change.
