Vaccination update for #Bangkok for yesterday:

87,373 people vaccinated in one day

Medical workers: +7,400

Underlying conditions: +8,895

Elderly: +4,815

7,222,620 doses administered so far

So I calculate about 20,000 vaccines for priority (medical , old, sick) but there were over 4 times as many vaccines given. Does this mean all medical/old/sick are now vaccinated?

As there is no vaccination transparency we have no way of knowing who else was vaccinated. I know second vaccines that were programmed have to take place but the rest of the vaccines??

Were they really necessary - could the @?**? not find some more old/sick

Frontline staff doing their best, constantly putting themselves at risk. It can never be stated enough, these are the true heroes.

Two Kanchanaburi nurses infected after stint in Bangkok

Medics from the countryside have helped treat over 150,000 people and found 15,000 new cases in Bangkok.

Both nurses were from the Dan Makham Tia Hospital in Kanchanaburi and were a part of the third batch sent to Bangkok on deputation.

They had been inoculated with two doses of the Sinovac vaccine before they went to Bangkok, but had not received a booster dose.

Ominous.

Yet still, markets are crowded, people will not distance from me in shops (7/11 etc.) and I see crowds gathering outside banks and other services with apparent no cause for concern because... they are wearing masks?

Makro this morning was light, but the delivery carts are full and up all aisles.

I'm at a loss to understand why the testing numbers are so low whilst the pandemic in Thailand is worsening at such an alarming rate. The neglect of responsibility seems almost wilful and those in charge must be held accountable.

Its crystal clear that they have give up! There dont have any effort to lift testing capacity!

And most sad thing is reason why!? They cant haddle the testing result's! Health system is overloaded already so 50k case's / day not fit in any "plan"

TOTAL: 19,091,970 doses

I'm not sure why TNR is reporting the 19 million figure as the total doses figure, when in fact the actual total doses figure is 23 million.  The 19 million figure is only counting doses given from June 7 onward, which was the start of the official vaccination campaign.

Sad to see and hear of young pregnant women dying.  One wonders if the babies were deliverable or if they perished along with the mother.  In my view that would be 4 deaths and not just 2.

Another day, another time deaths stats are pushed in everyone’s faces, and we are basically forced to stay inside and wilt away.

The greatest thought experiment I had recently was put all the lockdown people somewhere, and the freedom people somewhere else… because those two groups don’t just have different views, they are from different worlds. Why try to force oil and water to mix. I’m all for it, segregate societies based on if you would like to be free or not. The funny part is many of the lockdown proponents would choose the freedom society in the end.
