It has emerged that two attendees among 24 Thais and foreigners arrested at a party at a luxury villa in Koh Samui on Saturday have tested positive for COVID-19.

Six other people who were also arrested had only recently been discharged from a field hospital on the island, reported Daily News

Bo Phut station chief Pol Col Yuthana Sirisombat said that all those arrested have been charged with emergency decree offences and would appear in court.

At least one is a French national on overstay in Thailand.

The party was in Khao Plai Laem Soi 8 and involved 11 foreigners and 13 Thais.

Two have been charged with offences related to cocaine, a French man and a Filipina.

Daily News called the case "charming" in their headline - a phrase meaning the opposite.

Those arrested at the party would be sent to a quarantine facility, police said.

A total of 50 officers took part in the raid, 11 of whom are now also required to quarantine having come into contact with those who tested positive.

What strange times are these where people can afford luxury pool villas but not Thai cops.

A. Statistics like the PCR test numbers are...

B. My turn - 2 from 24 with Covid so that means 5.8m have covid

Which statistics really show the number of covid infection in Thailand

A, B or C (both meaningless B*llocks)

Bet he wished he stayed at home instead of partying, Auvoir .

You honestly would think that someone on overstay would be smart enough to keep a low profile. What a shock for that person, one minute living large on a tropical island during covid and then suddenly faced with deportation. Plenty of time to rue bad decision making now.

We are a small island and two out of a total of twenty four where positive but for how long and where on the island . How many acquaintances have been exposed to these unfortunate effected people whether THAI or Foreigners.
aThe Black Bamboo gave us a lot so two x ten friends x ten x ten is in fact a big worry for our tight knit community.

My wife and I are due for our second AZ jab on 19 September so the need for extreme caution will be paramount when shopping and going out of our compound.

Our hands are already in need of Alcohol Anonymous ????????

Well I guess all the party people will be kept in the same cell block as they are infected, or

may start showing symptoms in the several days.  I bet that most of them feel foolish for

being at that gathering. I hope they all get big fines, and the foreigners get the biggest fines.

Pretty stupid to be in a group of any size right now if it is not the immediate family.

Geezer
