Thailand to receive 61 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine this year

Why the detour through local licensed production if imports of tens of millions are no problem (anymore)?
The day will come and they will have to destroy millions of jabs, all over the planet and in some countries they even throw in a premium, if you get vaccinated.

Las Vegas/Nevada in the US shells out USD 100 per vaccination they can administer to the beneficiary - most likely to be spent in any of those countless casinos immediately afterwards.

The Germans are more down to basics; there you get a freshly grilled Bratwurst (sausage), if you get vaccinated.

Something is seriously wrong on this planet and the public health care of the various states ..... me thinks!

About half of them vaccinated with AZ = about 13 million

AZ 61 million - AZ 13 million = 48 million would then have to appear in the last 4 months.

As of 12 August

Vaccine numbers Augut 12, 2021
He disclosed that, by August 12th, 22.5 million doses of vaccines have been administered. These include 10.7 million doses of Sinovac inactivated virus vaccine, 9.68 million doses of AstraZeneca viral vector vaccine, 1.7 million doses of Sinopharm inactivated virus vaccine and 286,704 doses of Pfizer mRNA vaccine.

So 13 mm for AZ is a decent estimate to date.

There could be 1 mm in logistics?

But 12 mm a month for Sep, Oct Nov and Dec sounds impossible.

But maybe all 48 mm will arrive on 32 December?

Last month, health officials said that AstraZeneca had asked to delay deliveries of its order of 61 million doses to May 2022.

Mmm.

Siam Bioscience's no-media policy which is a notable exception in Thailand where every major project undertaken by government agencies and private companies is open to the media. Adds to the persistent obscurity in the government's vaccine drive plans. Recently Siam Bioscience turned down Khaosod English's request to visit the factory. Was told that the plant was off limits to the media. I am not sure whether they have increase their production capacity to accomodate the 61 million doses by this year. Will be good for Siam Bioscience to be open and less opague.

And now with SBS Honorary Director of Corporate Communications, Nualphan Lamsam being named football manager for the War Elephants, in addition to her duties at the family insurance company (Muang Thai Insurance PCL), we should expect even less "media" if that's possible.

Nualphan named as manager of Thailand football team

AstraZeneca commences new COVID-19 vaccine supply chain in Thailand

Nualphan Lamsam, Honorary Director of Corporate Communications, Siam Bioscience Co., Ltd., said: “Siam Bioscience is proud to have been selected by AstraZeneca as its local manufacturing partner and we take our role of producing high-quality COVID-19 vaccine as fast as possible very seriously. It is an honour to work for the wellbeing of the Thai people, to help bring the acute phase of the pandemic in Thailand and the region to an end.”

"The delivery would bring Thailand's total vaccine supply for 2021 to over 120 million doses, of which 61 million from AstraZeneca and a combination of 30 million doses of China's Sinovac and 30 million from Pfizer-BioNTech."

who stole over 6mln sinopharm already in the country?

at which rancho dr Anutin keeps those 1.5mln donated pfizer from the USA and where he find freezers for another 1mln on the way?

Where 5mln moderna evaporated, which was already payed by patients, and from which 1mln the red cross pinched for the royal army?

there were also 415k the UK donation of AZ.

Every single day they are shocking revelations. The next day they turn to be false.

Did general Prayuth really met the AZ head honcho?

just 2 days ago the foreign affair minister and dr Anutin were declaring immediate action to organise emergency vax

You must realise that they are coping with a fast moving situation - that is why the announcements follow each other so confusingly.

In fact, it well may be that they are spinning/moving so fast that they have reached terminal velocity!

NB.

On rereading this post I can't help feeling that it may be confusing, and difficult to relate to reality - a bit like the government announcements on the subject in fact!

In the USA there are anti vaxxer losers and red necks that are still dying because they are too stupid

to get a good vaccination against the COVID 19 virus. In Thailand there are people who are still waiting to get

AZ, or Pfizer, Moderna, or J & J vaccines and yes there are people dying in Thailand while they wait as well.

I doubt that there are as many people in Thailand who are not going to get the jab, when they have the chance.

That is because the Thai families have seen either one of their family members die, or their friends family

member die. They seem to take this killer virus more serious that the freedom loving Americans, or even Canadians,

Yes there are way too many anti vaxxers and red necks in Canada as well, even one of my ex relatives,

I just hope that all of the Thai people and expats there can get a good vaccination as soon as possible, and then

survive getting the Delta variant of COVID, as many news stories that I read say that most of us will get some form

of COVID in the future.

Geezer

All of the Western vaccines are EXCELLENT in protecting against hospitalization and death.  No vaccine prevents infection.  It keeps you from having a severe case....that's the point of the vaccine.  If you mistakenly assumed it was a "magic potion" that keeps everyone from being infected....there's a guy in Isaan selling magic lottery tickets you should call.

???? may be you are American ... here is  an article in English about Israel, it's not a mater of magic potion but of contaminated people

If this is true it is very good news as its what developed countries like USA , Germany, Scandi, Isreal & UK have been doing for 8 months ( since January). Its the only solution to save lives, restore economy & business and so vital for Thailand bring back those cash in hand Tourists eager to get the sun, sights & enjoy Thailand again ( let alone all those folk eager to see their friends & partners).

It takes time - only yesterday did 16 & 17 yrs start queing up in many UK towns for their Pfizer jab. Teenagers & Twenty somethings know they are the most social beings - from pubs/nightclubs to schools/universities.

Only the vaccine for all brings this plague down, saves lives & restores business for all from the street seller to the biggest company. Get on with it Thailand.

I love the bit in that that says:  "Each mRNA “package” is designed to be absorbed into your cell, but only 25% stay in your arm at the site of the injection. The other 75%, Hoffe says, are collected by your lymphatic system and fed into your circulation."

Ummm....... yes....that's why it's a circulatory system genius.

Thailand will buy an additional 60 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine next year, Anucha added.

Buy from where? Can't they just ramp up production here?

Also. It would be nice if they can get EU and UK to recognise AZ made here.

Still scratching my head on this statement.  3 to 6 million a month.  4 months left and at the best 24 million doses to come still at the lowest 12 million doses.  How many have been delivered YTD so far from wither loans (Bhutan) donations (Japan), or sent from the UK by AZ itself.  Not sure how they can claim 61 million doses to be received by years end.

How can I put this......They are lying again !!!

No mention of the Moderna juice that was supposed to be delivered in Seotember or the 4th quarter?

Is this confirmation that this Private Hospitals Group destined batch is to slip backwards in 2022 or just journalistic oversight I wonder.

My wife got an email saying to expect my Moderna appointment notice in early November.

I expect not in the news because this was privately contracted, even if with government permission.

61 million and 69 million population?    Hmmm, may have some extra for smoothies and lunch boxes?

Only enough to give two 'jabs" to 1/2 the population, and not counting boosters against Delta, or extra shots for immune deficit folks.

Maybe somebody has learned, if keeping quiet about it.
