A Thai man has been rescued after he climbed a tall antenna tower in Banglamung last night (September 12th)

Rescue workers and The Pattaya News arrived in Soi Thung Klom Tanman 25 in Nongprue to find the man, 53, whose name was withheld per editorial policy, on the pole at about 17 meters above the ground around 9:00 P.M.

Rescue workers and local residents were assisting on a loudspeaker to encourage the man to come down from the pole but failed. The man, by his own admission, was intoxicated and had made the decision to climb the tower after a session of heavy drinking and a dispute with his wife over visiting a local market.

If he can climb a tower , he can walk to the bloody market ... his wife said. ????

regards worgeordie

Oh dear i must get back to netflix it is all getting very silly.

At least he never shot her dead like the guy in HH.

You see ladies..... There's some good ones out there

I guess this is the real reason for the booze ban happening in Thailand.

Pretty sad excuse from this guy. He should have at least to a bit of cell time

to sober up before his wife having to see him again.

Geezer

What a dumbass

With held his name due to editorial policy?  what about all the names in the past with road accidents etc...

I know this road well although they can't seem to spell it right all the time.  Lots going on at night?  just the other day news here a Thai guy from Bangkok been drinking drives off the road and crashes into a house then now this might be lots of partying going on?????

Just like I tell my Thai son all the time, just because you got a dick doesn't mean you are a man!  Being a man is being responsible taking care of business many never grow up mentally?

As one does.

I remember when I was a kid that somebody climbed to the top of the local TV transmission mast at St. Hilary. I can't remember why he did it, maybe protesting about something or else temporarily mentally unhinged, but the news at the time did mention that the TV programme transmissions had continued and as a result the radiation had probably sterilised the guy permanently. I don't suppose the microwave-length signals used by 4G are as much of a danger, but the guy might still want to get a sperm count done, lol.

'to “teach his wife a lesson.”  Most Thai males are brought up by mothers/grannies to believe they are the centre of the Universe.  They are unused to anyone saying 'No' to them.  The wife is lucky he didn't kill or batter her as is the usual 'punishment' for non-compliance.

Thailand is a never-ending source of entertainment.

If he was being made to go shopping I can see where he is coming from.

I imagine there were only radio waves so a scare story to stop others grabbing some headlines?

He had a great reception when he climbed down.
