Sad to say he is probably right that Thailand should not reopen yet.

That is the fault of the clown calling themselves a government but still does not change the facts.

Truthfully the only ones who would visit now are probably teh desperate for various reasons

Many who normally buy travel insurance will find they will not be covered for covid if CDC travel warnings for Thailand are above 2

As it stands now Thailand is rating a level 4 warning

Level 4: Very High Level of COVID-19 in Thailand

Key Information for Travelers to Thailand

  • Avoid travel to Thailand.
  • If you must travel to Thailand, make sure you are fully vaccinated before travel.
  • Because of the current situation in Thailand, even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants.

If you are infected with Corvit, that is not a 100% death sentence. 98.96% survive an infection in Thailand. Worldwide the survival rate is 97.94%. The survival rate in those who are fully vaccinated is even higher. Thailand should try to adapt its opening policy to the available intensive care bed capacity and stop dragging infected people to hospitals with zero symptoms. Whether a month more or less will make all the difference. In 2020, Thailand had a total of 538,883 deaths.

1 cancer 19%

2 ischemic heart disease 12%

3 stroke 10%

4 lower respiratory tract infections 9%

5 HIV 4%

6 Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease 4%

7 diabetes 4%

8 road injuries 4%

9 Chronic kidney disease 2%

10 cirrhosis 2%

People die of all kinds of diseases and it will stay that way. The virus is there and it won't go away.

does that guy know that the cases in Phuket do (mainly) not come from international vaccinated tourists (only 89 out of 30.000 received covid albeit being vaccinated), but local transmission -  so its a local made outbreak whcih has nothing to do with international tourists.

They should realize that the house is on fire because of their own people inside the country, not from outside!

Outbreak all started with letting hole Thailand travel during Songkran . I do not see any additional risk in letting vaccinated Tourist come in the country .

Those are incorrect stats. It's widewidely known every country has under counted cases and deaths, with many not reporting at all.

Comparing covid deaths to those from other causes is like comparing apples to oranges. Not a great comparison.

But you're right. The virus will be with us for the rest of our lives. Killing hundreds of thousands every year just like the flu.

Our way out is the vaccine. Sad so many fight it for ridiculous reasons.
