Copper

Featured Replies

I need to get a rectangular piece of 6 mm thick copper plate, 67 x 103 mm, for a heat sink. Anybody know where I might find this? (Pref. Eastern seaboard)

T.I.A.

Lazada or AliExpress?

Does it have to be copper (=$$$) most heatsinks are aluminium.

Is it vehicle related (this is the Motoring forum), let me know if you want the thread moved ????

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

I think your best bet would be to find a local resistance welder supplier.

We used MS Trading for yeas, and they do great work for fair prices, but they are in Bangkok.

Copper is fairly mallable.  A good plumbing supply store should have some good sized copper pipe that you can cut open and pound flat.  Copper will break just as a paper clip does if you flex it back and forth enough so if you do try this pipe approach, don't bend the copper back and forth too much.  You can flame it but I don't think you will need to.  Some videos on you  tubble should point you in the right direction

Also any building supply store should sell copper flashing or copper.  Not rare to be used for chimney or other uses around the house, copper ceiling tiles, etc.. not rare in houses or restaurants.

a piece of 3/4 or 1inch pipe flattened will do you

A piece of 3/4" or 1" with 6mm wall-thickness?

Cutting it and hammering it flat sounds like fun.

sorry missed the 6mm thick

If possible use aluminium, way easier to source. If 5 instead of 6mm works look for this, much more common.

I would like to know of one of these in Pattaya...........

Lots of the sheds carry plumbing stuff of course but I do not know of any specialists unlike electrical for example.

Again, for copper cut-to-size  I think your best bet would be to find a local resistance welder supplier.

Not local to me, if you have a suggestion in Chonburi would be great.

Thanks for searching but needs to be a solid block.

EDIT: my bad, you suggested that for the OP wanting a heatsink.
