"New Look" meaning same old ugly lady with new make up... those guys keeps coming up with these mind boggling numbers that never ever materialized so what is the point?

Welcome to Prayut's playground farang!  Get that bill-fold open!

No nightlife, no entertainment, no alcohol, Covid-infested beaches closed, no fun.
But we'll offer you farm tours - How fun right???

Normally I would not agree with you but this might have changed my mind if the report is correct.

Nobody will come unless bars and entertainment centers are open. The majority of the tourists are in two market segments. - searching for brides and looking for orogies. And neither can be accomplished when bars and entertainment venues are closed.

Eh?

They dont give a <deleted> about the average Thai person and instead of all these nonsense statements pulled out of their rear ends they should try getting their own heads permanently stuck up there.

They have to keep filling all those brown uniforms and pumping out more gold braid and medals - someone has to pay for all those gold plated salaries and pensions and of course have to keep "their own happy" .  Send the ordinary Thai back to work in the fields so we can boost our exports to pay for our lifestyle !

must be alzheimer's setting in !!

one small fly in ointment ,not enogth planes available at  sensible  fees for this to happen

a million foreign tourists will visit Phuket in the third quarter of this year (that has already started) and in the first three months of next year (the first quarter of 2022).

Actually, the third quarter of this year is already finished.

this fantasy of projected revenue is posted the same day as a story that states.....

"People who run restaurants, pubs and bars in Phuket's night life areas say that for them the much vaunted Sandbox has been an utter failure."

So are they allowing foreigners to come on holiday and WORK here now?  I thought that was illegal unless you have a work permit?

TiT. There is a thin line between legal and illegal.. If they don’t see (no enforcerment), there is nothing illegal happening. For the more straight arrow people, legality might attract them more.

He favors "workations" to help achieve this - getting foreigners in who are both holidaying and working at the same time.

So basically the idea is to do nothing, and somehow magically a million digital nomads - who can work anywhere - will come to Thailand where they can't even have a drink (or work) legally. Yes, I'm sure that's going to happen.

If they drop restrictions, open nightlife, and introduce easy-to-get remote work visas - maybe they'll get some numbers (but not a million). But that would require logic and action, so yeah nah won't happen.

Like putting lipstick on a pig?

Putting the "pray" in Prayuth since 2013.

He's fresh out of "thoughts" to go with his prayers.

The only orgies I ever had were in Singapore!

Bored couples mostly.

This place has overrated itself for far too long, and the chickens are now coming home to roost in locust proportions.

Which is more than can be said for the phantom tourists.

Som nam bloody-well na!

Welp I guess we gotta let the dirty falangs back in.....lets just make sure we shake every last baht out of them thru scams and regulations

But nobody is forcing dirty farangs  to come to Thailand unless the said dirty farangs is forced by their strong desire to find a bride or orgies in Thailand. They can stay at home or go somewhere else.

The "dirty farangs" reference  posts are getting rather repetitive
