Popular Post webfact
PHOTO: Satish Sehgal Facebook By Goong Nang(GN) Thailand – The President of the India-Thai Business Association is warning the Thai government for losing opportunities after India was not included as part of a Thailand “quarantine-free” low-risk country entry list. Mr. Satish Sehgal, the President of the India Thai Business Association said yesterday (October 23rd), “India was not included as part of the Thailand quarantine-free entry list, despite repeated urging for their inclusion from the economic sector and tourism sector.” Before we continue, for reference, the information on entering Thailand “quarantine-free” for low-risk countries is below. TPN media notes that the definition of quarantine free seems to differ between people, as in reality, one will need to wait at a pre-booked SHA+ (Safety and Health Administration, based on vaccination levels of staff and other regulations) hotel for their Covid-19 test results before being allowed to travel where they wish. “I have worked in business-related fields between Thailand and India for a long time. I am very sad and regretful about the decision by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to not include India as a country that applies for “low-risk” “quarantine-free” entry.” Satish stated. “Thailand is the number one destination for Indians to come and get married with more than 300 major “Indian-Style” weddings that typically have hundreds of guests per year. Popular Post RichardColeman
Certainly be interesting to see which countries test the most positive on arrival after the grand 're-opening' in a week 3
Popular Post ukrules
India making a 'naughty list' and Thailand's on it! All India needs to do is mandate a 2 week quarantine on return from Thailand and nobody will come. India is very well known for playing hard ball when things like this happen, they take it personally and have a track record of retaliation. Another angle; does the India association guy want Thailand to abandon it's attempts to control Covid spread because India is special, rules/realities should be ignored for India and India should be able to do as it pleases including threatening other countries. Heaven forbid the rich Indians not being allowed to do whatever they please, rules be damned, don't apply to rich Indians. 3
malathione
India is not a low risk country with only around 20% of its population fully vaccinated thus far (assuming one believes risk and vaccination rates are correlated, of course). 1
DonniePeverley
The irony being India aren't exactly opening their borders ! And the world knows that no one can trust Indian's covid vaccine certificates or tests, when you can literally go into any local hospital and buy what you want. rupert the bear
oh dear disregarding all these high quality tourists, thatll have to change as weve been told the unclean just dont spend enough.this absurd regime and its rediculous proclamations is getting down to bare boards.theyve screwed up the economy and theres very few options remaining.india is close and they wish to travel, the vulturine hordes will be released after the winter olympics,so those are looking like the best options as everyone else has been told theyre not good enough and have decided to go to places theyre welcome and dont have absurd entry requirements. all you need is a ticket and proof of a jab.aggh reality its a sobering wake up call, but as always an alternative reality will be imagined

Popular Post Karma80
Why there is a list of countries? A person is fully vaccinated, tests negative before flying, negative afterwards to come and enjoy the sights, smells and risk in the covid capital of South East Asia. The risk is on the traveller! I get that Thailand would block countries that don't reciprocate entry, but the motivation is to just accept anyone able to throw some bhat into the trough, so why mess about.
Dogmatix
Sounds like the TAT's much publicised promotion camapaign to get rich Indians to come and dump billions of baht in Thailand is falling on stony ground. They should just publicised bank account details and encourage the rich Indians to wire their money to Thaialnd instead.

BostonRob2
Yes, agreed, a major own goal and hopefully one that will be rectified soon. Indians are some of the most pleasant people in the world and most welcome in Thailand.
