Popular Post webfact
File photo: REUTERS Thailand on Thursday (October 28) reported 9,658 new COVID-19 cases, 8,526 recoveries and 84 additional deaths over the past 24 hours. ▶︎ Total infections since April 1: 1,856,110 ▶︎ Total recoveries since since April 1: 1,739,397 Thursday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 1,884,973 with 19,006 deaths. The news comes as Tourism and Sports Minister Pipat Ratchakitprakan is confident that replacing the Certificate of Entry (COE) system with the ‘Thailand Pass’ system will greatly contribute to the increasing number of foreign tourists when the country reopens on November 1. The Tourism Minister boasted a significant rise in hotel bookings under the Phuket Sandbox scheme for November now that travelers from 45 countries and one territory will be allowed to enter the country without quarantine. However, visitors need to provide a negative test for COVID-19 before traveling and take a COVID-19 test on arrival and wait in an approved hotel for the results. After they have been cleared, they will be allowed to travel freely in the country. I was thinking it had all of the 1k discussed on Tuesday e ending and yesterday but nope. ATK positives are a big jump as well. I wonder if those were from prisons or the public. Traffic and pedestrian foot traffic seems to have returned to near normal around me and the local talads are busy. U fortunately half of the folks I see are either not wearing a mask or wearing it as chin warmers. Relaxing of restrictions has also led to complacency and social distancing disappearing. 3
Bluetongue
As opined on a previous version of this page the decline seems to be more or less flatlining at a combined (PCR & ATK) rate of just over 10. Today's 14 seems pretty bad by that measure, or could be a blip caused by a relatively high number of ATKs today, probably the weekends figures finally coming through.

This remains a heavy burden on the health system and it would be nice to see those numbers declining rather than flat-lining.

Popular Post sucit
So everyone is out and about, malls open. Numbers are going down. What happened? Everyone’s theory was lockdowns are so effective. What is going on? It’s amazing when the theory you subscribe to is violated over and over and you still do not change your mind. The regulations do little to nothing. It’s a virus and moves through the population in a natural, biological way. We can’t control it. That would only be feasible if there were a handful of cases. 2

It's a virus that's killed nearly (officially) 5,000,000 people. I wonder what this number would be if the world let it move "through the population in a natural, biological way."? I would suggest 100,000,000+. Edited October 28, 2021 by dinsdale 3

"Numbers going down what happened?" Check just 4 posts above yours, numbers are going down in highly vaccinated provinces such as Bangkok, Phuket, Chonburi etc which together with the restrictions they had there helped get the numbers down. Other areas such as the Southern Border Provinces where vaccinations are very low and where they had very few restrictions have now overtaken Bangkok in case numbers.
