Hello,

Going to apply for ThailandPass on November 1 and hoping to fly to Phuket (Sandbox) on 6th November.

 

So if everything goes well,

Arrival to Phuket in the morning of 7th November.

Return flight on 21th November afternoon. Arriving home on 22th Nov.

 

How do i pick the dates for my travel insurance ? (Axa Sawadee)

 

Should i go with 7th-21th November (dates that i am actually in Thailand), or include the 6th and 22th November as well.

 

With the extra 2 days it costs some more but i just want the safest option for coverage and ThailandPass to be approved.

The covid 19 insurance only needs to valid from the day you enter Thailand to the day you leave.

Edit: But they may want it to valid for the length of stay you get when you enter the country. If entering visa exempt that would be 30 days.

See the edit I did while you were posting. You may need it to be valid for 30 days if entering visa exempt.

Yes i am fully vaccinated, just not from the list of 46 countries.

I picked Medium Term Visitor - Visa exemption option while applying for CoE.

But as i will be there only for 14 days, isn't a 30 days validation a bit much?

It depends upon the embassy or official consulate approving your Thailand Pass application.

Most insurance companies only sell the covid 19 insurance in 30 day increments.

I think i will go with this one.

I was able to get different quotes depending on number of days.

If i will have to purchase a 30-day policy that's ok too. Just do not want to take any risks as i have limited time to get approval.

 

What country are you flying from? That determines if you are visa exempt.

 

Also, the price of a couple of days of insurance is negligible. Depending on what type of insurance you get, you might want to start at the departure date and end at the leaving date so it can cover flight delays, baggage delays, etc.

If it’s any use when I did the old COE it had to be to the end of my visa, so I’d get the 30 days if I were you. Plus the company I went with only issued them in blocks of 30 days. I couldn’t have got two weeks cover.

No, with one caveat - it has to specifically mention it covers Covid.

Does anyone from the US have experience dealing with this? Is a letter from the insurance company stating it would cover COVID adequate?
