webfact
Picture: Daily News Two Pakistani drug mules told customs they were paid just 20,000 baht each to bring almost three dozen kilos of drugs from their country to Thailand. The men - named only as A and B aged 26 and 35 - were stopped in the Green Lane. Heroin weighing 1.1 kilos and 30.6 kilos of Ketamine were concealed in instant tea sachets in their luggage. The flight had come from Karachi and Dubai. Picture: Daily News Customs chief Phachorn Anantasin said that neither man had been to Thailand in the last two years reported Daily News. Pressed by the media if this case was linked to others Phachorn said it was not. He said it was part of a renewed drive to stop smuggling after moves initiated by PM Prayuth Chan-ocha. The suspects - who were to hand the drugs over to a contact outside the airport if successful - are now in the hands of the Narcotics Control Board and narcotics police. Popular Post Gsxrnz
They must have looked too innocent. I always show anger and frustration at customs and passport officials. They think that anybody as offensive and rude as me would not dare to act in that manner if I was smuggling. I always get through NZ customs with 2,000 ciggies when the limit is only 50. 4

Hans Johnson
It’s funny that they never follow through where the consignment of drugs are bound for and who is the receiver or sender is. Get the media and all our friends in for a photo shoot with covered faces and lots of pointings to the table. 1

ChipButty
Not very smart to me, Thai customs I mean it quite likely they were tracking that shipment from Dubai, could have put tracking devices in the luggage to see where it was going and that amount is some serious people involved,

007 RED
If I recall correctly, new x-ray scanners were installed in the baggage arrival section of Suvarnabhumi airport in 2019 to enable customs to automatically scan all arriving baggage for contraband. Apparently, many types of drugs show up as a specific colour and density which sets off an alarm. The case is then monitored via CCTV and when the owner collects it from the arrival belt they are be greeted by a welcoming party. The immigration service in New Zealand is called "Immigration New Zealand", not New Zealand Immigration Service. They obviously opted for this because if it was called "New Zealand Immigration Service" or NZIS as you have unwittingly suggested, is just a trifle too close for comfort to the very suitable acronym of "NAZIS". The New Zealand Institute of Sport are referred to as NZIS. They let men compete in women's sport so they could never be called NAZIS. Idiots and fools yes, but not NAZIS. Especially where debts are involved as well. Only really poor sods get knocked off like this. I've heard they are also offered up as a kind of 'tribute' while the real consignment sails through ... but 36 odd kgs seems like more than a tribute, unless they're shipping tonne or two of the stuff.
