wall to wall carpeting in Chian Mai

Featured Replies

Does anybody know if there are any decent wall-to-wall carpeting manufacturers and layers of a decent, not the best quality in Chiang Mai? I want to carpet part of my house, about 100 sq. Meters - my extended study.

If any of you can get me the information, I woud be most gratefful

We have a couple of larger rugs we brought with us from USA.  They are all man-made fibers to avoid problems with mildew and insects, etc due to the high humidity in Thailand.

The problem is that cleaning them is not so easy due to a lack of quality vacuum cleaners with features suitable for use on carpets.  We can import one but the expense is significant for what you get.  We bought one Electrolux model that is merely adequate but it is laborious, slow and suspect the lifetime will be limited due to poor design of the vacuum body.

Based on my experience I'd suggest you reconsider using wall to wall carpet.

Yeah ^^^, there is a reason fitted carpets are not popular in the tropics.

They are a magnet for the local wildlife which once it's taken up residence is a nightmare to evict.

Movable rugs can be placed outside in the sunshine which is very effective disinfectant / creature killer.

There used to be a carpet store on Mahidol Road on the south side about halfway between the river and Airport Plaza. However, i haven't noticed if they are still in business.
