TAK (TNA) – Police arrested illegal border crossers in Mae Sot district of Tak province and human traffickers in southern provinces as they have intensified operations to crack down on human trafficking.

Pol Lt Gen Surachate Hakparn, an assistant national police chief supervising anti-human trafficking operations, visited Mae Sot district when police and soldiers arrested 4 illegal Myanmar migrants on the bank of the Moei River.

He said that anti-human trafficking police arrested 19 human-trafficking suspects in southern border provinces today.

So they're arresting the victims rather than the traffickers, as usual - this has consistently been one of the main reasons that they keep ending up on the human trafficking watchlists of various countries.

I find the reports very confusing.

Are they arresting traffickers, or are they guides that are escorting people who have paid to be brought to Thailand?

The real Traffickers are still shopping in the Malls and enjoying the finer things in life.

As a "Johnee on the spot" so to speak, you can pretty much ignore this PR circus
