Cabinet suspends controversial Chana industrial project, protesters see move as ‘buying time’

The Thai cabinet decided today (Tuesday) to suspend the implementation of the controversial industrial estate project in Chana district of the southern province of Songkhla, pending a new Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of the project to be undertaken by an ad hoc committee chaired by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.

Thailand’s Maya Bay to reopen on New Year’s Day with restrictions

Picturesque Maya Bay in Thailand’s southern province of Krabi will reopen to visitors on New Year’s Day, 2022, but with strict conditions attached, including no swimming in the bay and the number of visitors at one time will be limited to no more than 375.

Thai Economy Expected to Grow 1% This Year: World Bank

BANGKOK, December 14 (TNA) – Thailand's economic activity has subsequently rebounded and is expected to grow by 1.0 percent this year after being severely hit by a surge of COVID-19 cases in the third quarter of 2021, according to the World Bank's latest Thailand. Laotian man arrested for Victory Monument convenience store robbery - blames online gambling

Cabinet waives toll fees on motorways no. 7 and 9 for New Year’s
