Popular Post snoop1130
BANGKOK (NNT) - A new platform to facilitate ease of traveling for international tourists has been launched in the form of the Entry Thailand website. The central platform for tourists is expected to simplify international visitors’ experience in making preparations to visit Thailand. Minister of Tourism and Sports Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said the Entry Thailand website is being developed with hopes of facilitating convenience for the international tourists who will be visiting Thailand once the COVID-19 situation improves further. He elaborated that the central platform will contain information about entering Thailand and will link to mobile applications and information sources that are necessary for tourists. Examples of said linkages include those for the Thailand Pass system, the Mo Chana system, Covid insurance purchase, a tourism destinations directory, the tourism volunteers system, online visa application, and the tax refund system for tourists. Mr. Phiphat expressed confidence that the central platform will improve tourist satisfaction. The tourism minister also spoke of the government’s decision to relax Covid restrictions so New Year’s festivities may take place, saying that the public is nonetheless being asked to strictly observe COVID-19 prevention measures on New Year’s Eve. He added the government wanted people in Thailand to enjoy the festivities after a long period of absence. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-12-16 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 2 1 1 2

Popular Post TallGuyJohninBKK
There's no weblink to any new Entry Thailand website in the OP report... And in the OP, one part says the new platform has been "launched," while a later reference says it's "being developed." Ahh... but it does exist... in all its glory: http://entrythailand.go.th/en/ Edited December 16, 2021 by TallGuyJohninBKK 11 3
Popular Post treetops
Looks like this which is not new and was supposed to do what was described except for COE instead of Thailand Pass a while back. https://www.entrythailand.go.th/en/ It wasn't much use then and I don't expect it'll be any better now. Warning - you may get a security certificate error when opening it due to the professionalism of whoever is behind it. 4 2 2

Popular Post Cherrytreeview
Until people can get a 30 day stamp at BKK, there won't be any tourism. Once this "high season" is over in early January 2022, tourism will go off a cliff again. No one is interested in their platforms. 45 1

I don't want to spend a fortnight incarcerated in a hospital if i fail a PCR test. With omicron exploding around the globe, the odds of that happening have just increased. Looks like most real tourists feel the same. 29
Popular Post tomacht8
I had to uninstall the Mor Chana app. The app eats its way deep into the system and automatically switches on GPS and Bluetooth. The battery is empty after 2.5 hours if you don't have a new phone. The app also does not offer an upload function for the PCR tests. You wait days until the QR code turns green. Even the hotel staff told me the app is rubbish. The Mor Prom app is much better in this regard. 5 3 1 2

Popular Post internationalism
according to the ticker at the bottom of that page some 244k entered thailand. That is most likely within the last 16 months since opening country in july 2020. That makes 15k per month. Probably only 10% of them were genuine tourists Edited December 16, 2021 by internationalism
Popular Post daveAustin
You want simple? Open the country, test on entry. Done! Stop f*****g about. Don’t employ 300 penpushers to come up with another bloated convoluted system BECAUSE YOU CAN, just copy another country with half a brain. Thailand, I love you dearly but when you think too mutt, everything goes to S ! 29

Yeah we need more apps like that like a hole in the head. Lipstick on a pig controller app for other annoying onerous apps, it sounds like. If and when they ever want a reasonable volume of tourism then it's time to eliminate apps, not add more of them. Maybe ONE app, deeply pared down, and associated entry requirements also deeply pared down. No predictions on how many years until that might happen. Look at Colombia for an example. They're already there. Edited December 16, 2021 by Jingthing 3
Popular Post misterphil
COE, Thailand Pass, now this? ???? When are they going to get it in to their heads that tourists aren't interested anymore. Its too much drama for a holiday. Then when you get here its face masks all the time. I wasn't surprised that on my return last week my wife told me that we have to wear face masks in a car. What? We are a family of 3, we live in the same house, sleep in the same bed and we have to wear a face mask in our car? Are you serious? How about getting the contactless payment system sorted out so we don't have to touch money?
Popular Post MasterBaker
this government is dreaming again. it will be another lockdown what they it or not. as an example, here is a part ot the e-mail i got from Canadian Embassy today: In an attempt to limit the spread of (COVID-19), specifically the new Omicron variant, the Government of Canada has re-instated a Global Travel Advisory to avoid all non-essential travel outside of Canada until further notice.. Find out what commercial options are still available to return to Canada. Consider returning to Canada earlier than planned if these options are becoming more limited. Ensure that you have sufficient finances and necessities, including medication, in case your travels are disrupted. Most governments have implemented special entry and exit restrictions for their territory. Before travelling, verify if the local authorities of both your current location and destinations have implemented any specific restrictions related to this situation and consider your transit points. Restrictions imposed could include: Entry bans, particularly for non-residents Exit bans Quarantines of 14 days or more upon arrival, regardless of where you are arriving from Health screenings Border closures Airport closures Flight suspensions Additional restrictions can be imposed suddenly. You should not depend on the Government of Canada for assistance related to changes to your travel plans. 3

Popular Post darrenr
4. Certificate of criminal record clearance from the country of nationality. The certificate should be valid not more than three months and should be notarized by notary organs or the applicant's diplomatic or consular mission. what the hell does this mean ! For a non Imm O-A retirement visa won’t they just accept an original police clearance (I am in Australia so would be a national police clearance from my state police force ), or nearest consular mission to Qld Is Sydney, so I have to send it down there just to get stamped , can’t I justice get it certified by. Popular Post koele2
Probably some connected rich kid got the contract to develop this latest round of tourist website. Got paid millions of baht, and the site works sometimes, doesn’t make any sense, and is pointless overall.
