TNN reported that five "foreign" tourists who arrived in Phuket tested positive for the Omicron variant. All were double vaxxed.

One was from the US, one from Sweden, a German woman, a Tunisian national and a Thai back from pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

Elsewhere in the Thai media it is being reported that 8 pilgrims in two tour groups from Saudi Arabia have tested positive for the new variant.

Authorities have urged the public not to panic as quarantine measures are in place and the cases are being closely monitored.

Our illustrious health minister is going to recommend compulsory quarantine this afternoon. He will of course be voted down in the meeting but he is in anuus covering mode again.

A large percentage of Omicron cases seem to be from returning Thais, who could have had who knows what cocktail of sinovac or AZ vaccinations.

I can see the Omicron scare sending Thailand back to the 14 day quarantine days again.

Vaccinations do not stop infection.

They stop the virus from making you seriously ill or dying.......mostly.

Thailands greatest enemies have been the Thai States precipitate procurement of substandard vaccines, piecemeal procurement of the best ones, the usual vastly overrated estimate of its ability to produce vaccines itself, and a chaotic programme for actually dosing the population.

And let's not forget the collusion of the Thai media in unquestioningly and uncritically propagandising an illusory threat from appropriately vaccinated, "legitimate", foreign tourists/visitors.

Distraction and deception away from the true culprits is what the circus has been all about.

It continues.

So the tests don't works, the vaccinations don't work and the boosters, well they are just another vaccine and again none seem to work at detecting or keeping the virus at bay.
