Naew Na reported that raids by Thai police, military and the Cambodian authorities across the border had resulted in the arrest of 39 Thais and five Chinese extorting Thai people in two call center operations.

 

The cases were expanded and resulted in the arrest of two Thai drivers called Decha, 45, and Thiwakorn, 30, who smuggled in nine Chinese across a natural border.

 

The group were on their way to set up a call center in Thailand. All the Chinese were arrested too with much equipment seized.

 

Gangs run call centers extorting Thai people with bogus claims that they are being investigated by officialdom often in drugs cases, notes ASEAN NOW.

So, 5 Chinese?  9 Chinese?  Is the one story or are they mixing up two stories?  Or is this another example of Thai journalism majors not being able to do basic arithmetic?

What's the different 9 or 5 Chinese? the gist of the story to show you that crooks never sleep and always looking for better ways to fleece people even their own kind and since we're not Thai or Chinese good luck to them...

Initially, 35 Thais and 5 Chinese arrested (in Cambodia?) with a further 9 Chinese and two Thais arrested in a truck in Thailand.
