A Thai man in debt from gambling to the tune of 50,000 baht robbed a gold shop with a BB gun on Christmas Day.

But he was in custody 24 hours later on Boxing Day thanks to work by the Kannayao police.

The robbery took place at the Yaowarat shop at the end of Soi Khu Bon 2 in the Ram Inthra area of Bangkok.

Suphawit, 22, was arrested in a housing estate in Watcharapol Soi 3.

CCTV showed that the suspect had changed his clothes in Khu Bon Soi 4 before vaulting a wall to Soi 6 and fleeing on a waiting Kawasaki z250  bike.

He was taken on a reenactment to all the sites and readily admitted everything he had done in his festive season caper.

The three baht weight of gold he stole - worth about 85,000 baht - was recovered from three other gold shops.

Met chief Pol Lt-Gen Samran Nuanma advised gold shops to never let people in motorcycle helmets into their stores, reported Daily News

They keep doing it and seem to get caught so easily,

they need better planning........????.

I remember the story of a security truck driver , the night

before he super glued the lock on the first ATM on the

delivery route, next morning when the crew were messing

about with the lock , he drove off to his getaway vehicle ,

a tuk tuk, he could only get half the money on , and was

quickly caught......needs more planning...
