Comparative Covid Vaccines

Featured Replies

Hi.  I know that some posters on this forum have read quite a bit about the various Covid vaccines.  Here’s a hypothetical question, please.  Which is of these three situations do you think would be best?

2 shots of AZ + 1 Pfizer + 1 Moderna

2 AZ + 2 Pfizer

2 AZ + 2 Moderna

Probably the first.

The reason being that the spike proteins Moderna and Pfizer code for are not identical so you get a wider range by having had both.

But not huge difference. Any mRNA vaccine as a booster to 2 AZ is good.

I asusme you know that after 2 AZ it is considered a booster and just one dose needed. You can go for a 4th booster as well but not until at least 3 months from booster #3.

It's very likely this year most of the vaccine makers will be coming out with updated vaccines.  So I would hold off on a 4th shot until then.

I was lucky in Australia, got:

2 Astra Zenica, then 2 Pfizer jabs.

I was even luckier ... 2x Pfizer + Moderna booster three weeks ago ... I'll wait till they tweak for the next booster.
