Lost passport scenario

Not sure if its the correct section but i think so.

Lets say you have non-o, work permit and working for a long time. What happens if you lose your passport? And show all police report, and get a new visa from your embassy. And tell immigration you had non-b but lost your passport and here are the documents from my work with my work permit. Will immigration give your extension to your new passport? Do they keep your records at their office or computer (i dont think so)? can they check from that or not about your past extensions or likewise? Whats the procedure?

If the answer is NO for all... then you need to leave the country and get a new non-b? how to leave?

thanks

You think wrong, they have everything about you.

Well they will know you together with a scan or copy of your old lost passport and the police report + new one, they logically transfer the visa into the new passport just as when you did not lose your passport but it expires and you renew in BKK.

Immigration keep all your extension details on their computer. In case of doubt, they also keep your paper application aswell. The paper applications are stored in order of approval number, which makes them fairly easy to retrieve.

Of course they can check, and they will know instantly if you were on a Non O and try and claim that you were on a Non B.

Normally you can get from your embassy a urgent paper replacing your passport to return to your home country only .....

At least that is what my E.U. country gives , but only to travell to home country ( Called  " laissez passer document" )

As stated previously an American can renew their passport entirely by mail using US Embassy Bangkok and the good news is the processing time is something like 2 weeks.

When your new US passport arrives you should also receive a letter from the US Embassy Bangkok requesting the assistance of Thai Immigration to transfer information from your lost passport to your new passport.  Visit your local immigration office to have that done.  It should be a free service.
