Daily News reported on the case of a man in a yellow Honda who wound down his window while driving past Phrapradaeng police station and fired many shots in the air.

It happened late on Friday night.

Police armed with arrest and search warrants issued by the Thonburi court later arrested Thannithi, 29, as he drove into his house in a well known estate.

He initially claimed he's used a cap gun, this then changed to a BB gun and was finally determined to be a "blank gun" that only has noise.

The suspect - who was charged with multiple weapons' violations - is an executive director of a well known transport company.

A search of his property revealed a large number of handguns and rifles guns like .22 and .38 used on ranges.

The suspect said that on the night in question he'd been drinking with friends and got over excited. He admitted to being drunk and stressed out.

He was taken into custody.

He coperated with police and despite claims in the media that he is "a person of influence" he didn't make any assertions in that regard.

He admitted to firing a .38 and a BB gun in two separate locations.

Only in Thailand this type of thing happens .. ????

Very common in the Philippines. My old multi-national totally closed an oil refinery outside of Manila for 5 years because employee on-site gangs had become a daily serious problem with employees carrying hand gunds and shooting at other gang members amongst the various highly volatile petroleum processing towers and causing fires.

Used to happen a lot in Indonesia perhaps 20 years ago and previous to that. It was common enough for 'wanna be' clowns to shoot the waiter if they didn't like the food. Money would easily buy the perpetrator out of any issues and especially easy if the family had some connection to  Suharto or his family members/family companies.

Aged 29... I wouldn't employ him to put out the trash bin.

Methinks the term 'executive' a bit of a misnomer.

"Executive Director" = Indolent, spoiled son of owner, on the board and taking large salary, but not required to turn up for any sort of work related activity.

Tiny version of "Boss".

He drove the yellow car because it blended in with everyone else.

@steven100I suspect mummy and daddy own the company ...... no difficult interviews.

Must be the office boy . Co Directors dont drive 20 plus year old civic hatches. Someone is telling porkies

..."The suspect said that on the night in question he'd been drinking with friends and got over excited. He admitted to being drunk and stressed out."....He said that as if it was a valuable excuse  !!!

I wonder who his rich daddy, errr boss is?  One of the unidentified, do you know

who I am kind of people that had to show up at the police station with a few envelopes,

no doubt.

In Thailand, can you ask for the lawyer and refuse to talk to the police. Or give any statement at all? How does this work here?

In the US, you say nothing to the police, get your lawyer, and fight it out in court.

In Thailand, if do not resolve the matter with the police, and you end up in court, you are likely screwed.
