Danang welcomes first international air passengers on Lunar New Year's Day

On Tuesday morning, the Da Nang Department of Tourism in collaboration with Viet Nam's private budget carrier Vietjet Air and the Rong (Dragon) Tien Sa Communication JSC to hold a ceremony to welcome the first flight to land at the Da Nang International Airport on Lunar New Year's Day.

 

A ceremony was held on Tuesday morning to welcome the first air passengers to set foot in Da Nang on Lunar New Year's Day.

 

According to Da Nang Today, the flight VJ624, carrying a total of 230 passengers onboard with twenty-six foreigners included, departed from Ho Chi Minh City and arrived in Da Nang at 10:20am.

 

Once the plane landed at Da Nang International Airport, leaders of the municipal Department of Tourism and Vietjet Air presented flowers and congratulatory gifts to the first air passengers to set foot in the city.

 

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh, the Deputy Director of the city's Department of Tourism, remarked that welcoming first air passengers to Da Nang on Lunar New Year's Day has become a tradition of the Da Nang tourism sector, which demonstrated the city's hospitality.

 

Leaders of the municipal Department of Tourism and Vietjet Air presented flowers and congratulatory gifts to the first air passengers to set foot in the city on Lunar New Year's Day.

 

Da Nang is expected to welcome 44,055 air passengers from 404 flights during the 9-day Tet holiday.

 

There are now a total of eight domestic air routes with a frequency of 218 flights/week connecting Da Nang with Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Noi, Da Lat, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Buon Me Thuoc, Hai Phong, and Can Tho.

 

The city plans to open more domestic flight routes in the time to come.

 

Currently, admission fees are waived for visits to the Museum of Cham Sculpture, the Museum of Da Nang, the Fine Arts Museum, and the Marble Mountains Tourist Area during the Tet Festival.

 

Such private tourist attractions as the Mikazuki Water Park, and Suoi Hoa and Suoi Luong eco-tourism areas, are offering many promotion programmes to visitors.
