Dear Friends,

Wisdom is not something that can be easily achieved.

The cost is paid in years of experience and through introspection, perhaps reading many books, during these years.

And so, would you not happily trade your wisdom for callow youth, if only you could?

There is much to be stated for being young and stupid.

I am sure we all feel likewise.

I would prefer to not know much, and be young.

Getting wise when you get old is similar to being bald and receiving a comb.

One should never crack wise when one is old, as you say.

A clear indication that the "Gods" don't really like us. Otherwise they would have given us all the wisdom at the age of 20. (Building a life, avoiding major mistakes).

In mid life we could "consolidate" our past achievements.

In old age, we could care-free concentrate on the important things in life. Like: Play golf and try to get the attention of 20 year younger ladies.

As this concept is reversed, clearly the Gods don't really like us.

Maybe the gods did not consider playing golf to be of any importance in this life of ours.

Perhaps, the gods wished us to spend our time in other more fruitful ways.

Age is no guarantee of anything wisdom included

You can have wisdom anytime...it is actually quite easily achieved.

Anything ever learned is written so read & gain wisdom anytime

But wisdom is not knowledge

Knowledge is only gained when you *Know* the wisdom is true & thus it becomes knowledge

This should be learned especially in these days of media fueled BS passing for facts

Anyone can be wise ( but few are, IMO ), but knowledge is gained by years of life.

When life was short and brutal, those that lived long enough to amass knowledge were thought to be wise, simply because they knew a lot of stuff.

And now?

Now that life is longer, and still very brutal?

And now that we all know plenty of stuff?

Do we qualify as being wise, just due to having lived a long and brutal life, do you think?
