World’s best hotel: Bangkok’s Mandarin Oriental steals the show
Absolutely, it's very subjective. Personally, my favourite hotel experience was at the Laguna Resort in Bali, which is 5 star but not from one of the top chains. -

What really grinds your gears in Pattaya
I live next to old Mercure on soi 15 which has now become a 'Heeton Concept' hotel. Pretty sure that may be an Indian tour place as it always has huge bus loads coming and going on a small soi (when they're not walking 5 abreast). I wouldn't think a Mercure level hotel would be extreme cheap though? -

Alleged Drunk Driver Causes Traffic Jam in Pattaya After Refusing to Exit Car
Knowing or not everything if one lives in a society comes down to enforcement. Thus the reason Thailand has the problems they do so much we take for granted that we learn in the West, sure at times it is overboard but valud why it exist. Like the comment victim receives a judgement ten years still nothing because there isnt a system in place to collect. Many places the assets legally would have be taken and sold so any wages garnished until judgement is paid. Here go to the temple you feel better. -

Latest developments and discussion of recent events in the Ukraine War
ISW Update: NEW | · Russian forces continued counterattacking throughout the Ukrainian salient in Kursk Oblast on September 12 but made only marginal gains, likely due to continued Ukrainian offensive operations and defensive counterattacks in the area. Russian forces have so far advanced in areas of Kursk Oblast that Ukrainian forces were not yet fully controlling nor attempting to control, and Russian forces will likely face more difficulty when counterattacking further into areas of the salient where Ukrainian forces do have A Ukrainian HIMARS strike reportedly damaged a temporary pontoon bridge across the Seym River and wounded a group of nearby Russian troops on September 12. Russian authorities have reportedly deployed additional elements of the Russian 106th Airborne (VDV) Division to Kursk Oblast and may begin redeploying more combat experienced forces to support ongoing Russian counterattacks and future counteroffensive operations against Ukrainian forces in Russia. The United Kingdom (UK) will reportedly allow Ukraine to use UK-provided long-range Storm Shadow missiles to strike military objects in Russia in the coming days. -

Revisiting History: The Unlikely Campaign to Vilify Winston Churchill
I doubt it very much. The UK opposing Germany had very minor military effects in that period. Had the UK accepted the 1940 peace offer from Germany, most likely exactly the same things would have happened, the USSR would have defeated Germany, the empire countries would have demanded independence eventually. I don't see the UK opposing Germany having had much of an effect, after all the British army vacated the continent defeated, and Churchill had little to fight Germany with, apart from bombing civilians. That is why he wanted the US or Russia to do the fighting for him of course, because he coudln't. -

So you are commenting on a hotel you have never stayed in? You have stayed in another hotel of the same chain in a different country and feel the need to comment?
