Accident Durian Warehouse Worker Killed by Train in Chumphon
Picture courtesy of SiamRath. A 20-year-old man was killed after being struck by a freight train in Lang Suan District, Chumphon Province, in what police believe may have been the result of severe exhaustion after working night shifts at a local durian packing facility. Police and emergency services were called to the scene at 09:00 on 6 July, after receiving reports of a fatal collision near an illegal railway crossing in Moo 10, Laem Sai Subdistrict. The victim, identified from his ID card as Mr Watthana Bunruedachan, from Ratchaburi Province, was found dead in the grass just three metres from the railway tracks. He had suffered fatal injuries, including head trauma, a broken right arm and fractures in both legs. Personal belongings, including a black shoulder bag, an ATM card and a quantity of cash, were recovered at the scene. A sealed bottle of beer was also found nearby. According to Lt. Nattawut Koetsawat, Deputy Inspector of Ban Nai Huta Police Station, the train involved was Freight Train No. 778. The driver had reported seeing a man attempting to cross the tracks at the unofficial crossing point. Despite sounding the horn in warning, the man continued walking, seemingly unaware of the oncoming train. The train operator attempted an emergency brake, but due to the train’s length and weight, it was unable to stop in time. After the train eventually came to a halt, the operator inspected the area but did not immediately find the body. He was forced to continue to Lang Suan Station to allow a passenger train to pass and later reported the incident, prompting a full investigation. Local residents told reporters that the deceased was employed at a nearby durian processing plant and often worked overnight. It was common for him to walk to a nearby shop in the mornings to purchase food and alcohol before returning to rest. It is believed that he may have been overly fatigued and distracted, possibly causing him to miss the sound of the train horn. Police have since notified the young man’s relatives and the body was transported to Lang Suan Hospital. Adapted by Asean Now from SiamRath 2025-07-07 -

Texas Floods
Yes, Texas wil get treated well. That was my point. Wait till the next disaster happens in a blue state and compare. I'm sure most people got it but as usual, it needs to be explained to the mentally deficient MAGA morons. -

Riots against American digital nomads in Mexico City
That seems likely to stop, following the new Agri-Hospitality policy announced in Iowa; Mexicans will be working, but not sending any money home, because they won't be getting any money, but will be getting free (shared) room and board. -

Riots against American digital nomads in Mexico City
The US policy on illegal immigrants has changed. Following an address by the President, DHS is now looking at processes to allow selected illegal immigrants to work in the agricultural and hospitality trades, based on employer demand. There is no suggestion these workers will be regularised, ie issued visas. Its likely these workers will be escorted from detention centers or other establishments, by ICE agents, to places of work, and then escorted back to ensure they won't abscond. -

Crime Father Shoots at Son, Critically Injures Friend in Violent Family Dispute
Picture courtesy of Workpoint. A violent family altercation escalated into a near-fatal incident when a father opened fire on his son, but instead critically wounded the son’s friend who tried to intervene. Police and emergency responders were called to a residence in Ban Nong Kung, Hang Hong Subdistrict, Mueang Sakon Nakhon District at around 19:20 on 5 July, following reports of a shooting involving two men. At the scene, officers discovered two injured individuals lying outside the house. Mr Rungreung, also known as “Odd” 33, had suffered a gunshot wound to the thigh that severed a major artery. He was unconscious and in critical condition. The second man, Mr Kamphian 66, had sustained severe injuries from a machete attack, including lacerations to the face and head and two broken arms. Both men were treated at the scene by the Rattana Katanyu Foundation and later transferred to Sakon Nakhon General Hospital. Mr Rungreung remains unconscious. Investigators recovered a homemade long gun and a machete at the scene. According to Ms Janejira, the homeowner’s wife who witnessed the event, the assailant was Mr Kamphian, father of 27-year-old Mr Apisit, known as “Nick”. The father allegedly stormed the house with a rifle, aiming to shoot his son following a long-standing dispute. However, the shot missed and struck Mr Rungreung, who attempted to defuse the confrontation. After the shooting, Mr Kamphian reportedly drew a machete and continued the attack, attempting to strike his son. In the ensuing struggle, Nick managed to wrestle the weapon from his father and used it against him, causing serious injuries before fleeing the scene. Ms Janejira said the father and son had been arguing since the afternoon, though the exact cause of the dispute remains unclear. Local village headwoman Mrs Bangon Korchart confirmed that Mr Kamphian had previously asked for help evicting his son from the family home, citing frequent quarrels and claiming his son was unemployed and troublesome. Police have begun collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses, but further questioning of those involved will be delayed until their medical conditions improve. Authorities are also working to locate and question Mr Apisit. The precise charges will depend on the outcome of the investigation and the evidence gathered.
