  • It's a communication issue between Dentist and patient. (Usually) .Some prefer not to as they just  get uncomfortable/ unable in trying to give instructions etc.

  • Count your blessings, as unlike the non confrontational locals, maybe the dentist is tired of listening to foreigners' critique of the substandard work performed.

i have a question are dentists allowed to refuse treatment to someone in pain because they are foreigners..

Yes.  Private practitioners can choose who they want as patients.    Even if they were not allowed to be choosy, no one in their right mind would want to go to a dentist who is working on you against his will, dentists' visits are bad enough when they're friendly and appreciate your business!

My regular dentist that I was using for many years in one of the big named hospitals in Bangkok has also cancelled my last 2 appointments and now refuses to take any further appointments for me.

Even in Thailand a doctor cannot send away someone in pain.

Where did you get that from, bearing in mind that the OP is about dentists, not Emergency Room hospital doctors?

My regular Dental Clinic has 2 dentists. The man prefers to pass me on to has woman colleague because he does not speak English , but his lady colleague does.
