Visa Agent In Phnom Penh?

Now that Thai imm has stopped the covid extensions I will have to get a non-imm O visa from cambodia.

 

Around 8 years ago last time I did a visa run to Phnom Penh there was an agent opposite the Mekong on the waterfront. Is he still there? Or can someone recommend a decent agent, I really don't want to sit among the crowds for a day at the immigration.

 

Also, I have not heard of the land borders reopening, been trying to find info on that but will almost certainly be flying anyway.

Many agents have changed.

A Google search shows current agents and reviews.

Can I ask where you saw that though because i can't find any info on that update anywhere.

 

Thaiembassy.com still showing March 25th as their latest update on the covid extension and that site is pretty good at updating info fast.

Actually it is rather freaky, I had been on the 12 month marriage non-imm O visa for about 9 years, but had to dip into my 400K money in the bank temporarily and just thought i would do a quick land border run to get the 60 day stamp and then when that expired was going to do a visa run outside of LOS and get back on the 12 month extension system..

 

That was Feb 2020, and literally 2 days later Covid struck and eveything shut down... You know the rest.

 

Basically I didn't even need to go do the border run for the stamp because we were all put onto visa amnesty.

I'm not clear. 

How did you last enter Thailand.

Specifically did you last enter on a non O or visa exempt.

The 60 day stamp you get in your passport at the border, which I believe is visa exempt

If you had a ME non O that would stamp you in for 90 days. 

If you had a tourist visa you would be stamped in for 60 days.

If you entered visa exempt that would be 30.

Ok.

You entered visa exempt.

You can obtain covid extension.

I missed your current permit expiry. 

It's on stamp..."admitted till" date

Arriving by air is the best option (with visa on arrival) to avoid long drives from land borders to reach the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh. You must show you are fully vaccinated.

He doesn't need to go anywhere.

Appears he entered visa exempt and as a result can obtain covid extensions. 

Just recently continued till May 25. 

If someone gets a covid  extension late May then that will be permit to late July.

By then (and much sooner) the Thailand Pass will be gone and land borders open. 

Air travel far more simple..

I am sure that info is incorrect. The land border crossings from Thailand are not open yet.

There has been no announcement by Thailand of them opening.

Thank you for your comment. I must admit there does appear to be some confusion with the Thai border. Here in Cambodia, we have been informed:-

 

"Permit the re-issuance of Visa on Arrival for all international travelers, including air, land and sea travelers.’

I do know the land crossing between Poipet and Aranyaphratet is open for legal migrant workers and goods vehicles trading between both countries, but as for other travelers it appears to be closed.

Been looking at Phnom Penh as well.

 

I heard about the Covid extension continued till May 25. 
However my Embassy (Sweden) doesnt write those letters anymore. 

I assume this letter is stil required?

I was wondering... if we use an agency in cambodia, can we get things faster? because tourist visa takes 3, any NON visa takes 5 days. so if use agency can they make 3 days for NON? or they just prepare papers?

At one time, agents could speed up the process, but this had become less true by 2019. There is no evidence that I have seen, post Covid, where agents can shorten the time taken, but I have no first hand knowledge on the matter.

From the first post in thread I posted at start of this thread.

 

"Applying TR in Cambodia
➢ Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months
➢ Visa application form 
➢ 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm photograph 
➢ Evidence of travel in and out of Thailand (i.e. air ticket receipt paid in full)
➢ Evidence of adequate finance for the entire duration of stay in Thailand (at least 
1,000 USD per person or 2,000 USD per family)

➢Copy hotel reservation for 1st day
➢ 40 usd single entry for 60 days

 

i went on Monday morning and collected on Wednesday afternoon. I don’t use an agent and no questions asked by the embassy staff".

 

Seems no need for an agent.

Also back week or more a detailed report of chap obtaining non O.

Again no agent no issue.

 

Unrelated to this thread and similar others, I have never understood the urgency in the turn around time. 

Thailand ain't going anywhere. What's the rush.

I understand your point of view, and it is valid. I was just answering the question. There can, sometimes, be legitimate reasons why people do not want to be any longer than necessary away from their families.
