Difficult for me to find clear info as to what is required Covid testwise at Narita if flying from Bangkok to New York with a 9 hour layover.  Anyone know?

I know if flying to the USA one needs an Antigen or PCR test within a day of scheduled departure.   So it would seem the cheaper Antigen test is good as long as there are not any requirements at Narita.  Anyone transited through Narita recently or know the requirements if any?

Just a heads up.

I was looking at a flight on JAL and they required a test before boarding in BKK.

Went through Narita on our way to US on 4 March. No special requirements. We got our antigen tests at Swampy the night before and that was all. United Airlines checked our vaccination status and test results before boarding to US. Very simple and no problems.

ATK or PCR?

I can't recall.
Tried to find it again on JAL website, but was unable to, sorry.

test requirements for airlines are almost always the requirements of your destination. Not aware of any special requirements of any airports when only connecting. If there is a requirement it is an airline requirement and that would be airline related not airport.

Can anyone confirm if JAL is requiring a PCR test or ATK for transit (connecting) flights to the USA?  The USA, only requires a negative ATK test, but unsure if JAL has their own requirements?
