There is limit of 2 visa exempt entry per calendar year via land.

There is no limit on visa exempt entries via air.

There is no such thing as "90 days every 180" limit.

Used to be. Limit of 90 per 180. Must have changed it.

This is what I do now, no more retirement extension (ain't worth the ink it's stamped with anyhow, zero benefits, lots of BS) no more 90 day reports, no more reentry penalties, all that money goes to FIFO, be it ports near or far, with unlimited free re-entry! Everything else remains the same.

Can't understand why everyone doesn't do it.

You can reenter with tourist visa.

No rule on how long you were last in Thailand..

Is your plan to enter with TV or visa exempt.

How long were you staying in Thailand previous to exit.

I will go with no visa because i can get 30 day stamp in airport and i will do my thai pass

Given only 5 months in Thailand and one month out think you should be fine with visa exempt entry.

Be prepared for any questions from immigration officer.

Such as your plans for your 30 day stay.

The airline where your departing my require an onward flight.

Generally imm on arrival do not require that. Also not often require to show cash but you should have that on you.

I think you'll find many here are quite happy to do retirement extensions each year with the certainty that a trip  out of the country won't see them blocked from returning. One trip to immigration each year (1,900 Baht) and 90 day reports online are far easier and less costly than constant border runs (not to mention possible refusal of reentry).

Fly In Fly Out is a dodgey visa run for my situation - and dependent of pandemic variants and rules in the future. Hanoi is about $49 USD now but fuel costs and inflation will change that.

I like the 1 yr extension- married to a Thai -option. FIFO would be great for many cases though.

Chalawaan.  I not quite clear what you do instead of your annual retirement renewals then ?

Are you proposing border runs instead ?
